Morning Drop Off Procedures
Happy New Year!
Some of you might have seen me waving my arms like a Disney World cast member directing traffic. Well, for those of you who don't know, I am a Disney lover and I am preparing for my retirement job (someday) down at the Magic Kingdom while directing traffic for drop off in the morning. In the spirit of the most magical place on earth, I have a few suggestions to help make your morning drop off go as smoothly as possible:
Please stay as close to the party in front of you while you're in the queue - They say this a lot in Disney, and I used to think it was just to pack as many humans as possible in between those metal stanchions. However, after watching drop off all year, it turns out that this tip will save lots of time in line! If you keep up with the car in front of you, you will help keep the traffic flowing consistently.
Gather your personal belongings BEFORE you prepare to disembark your ride vehicle - Please be ready to hop out as soon as you are in the circle. We lose valuable ride time when students begin gathering their belongings when the car is in the circle. If you are ready to go when you hit the circle, the line will go faster. Please avoid having to open multiple doors or access your trunk while you are in the drop off line as this does tie up traffic.
Pull up to the cone or as close as you can and exit the ride vehicle in the designated area - Please pull up as far as you can and have your student exit the vehicle once you are stopped in the circle. We need at least 4 cars to exit at a time, but 5 or 6 is even better! I know it's cold, but this is the most important part of keeping the line moving smoothly. If we only let students out if they are first or second in line, it ties up traffic immediately.
Please stay in the designated paths - We cannot have anyone dropping off in the faculty parking lot. Please use the designated line. We've had multiple incidents where people were nearly struck by vehicles. This is a safety concern.
Consider getting to the park early (AKA "rope drop") - There is very little traffic before 7:35! I know it's hard to get out of the house so early, but if you can make it a little earlier, you may avoid a lot of traffic! Classes BEGIN at 7:45, and we want our students ready to go and in seats with their educational safety belts fastened at that time.
Let's make this year's traffic the lightest yet! As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you! Have a magical day!
