Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run!

Please join us for Oakview’s 2nd fun run of the school year - The Shamrock Shuffle! This fun run (1.5 miles) will take place on Friday, March 10, 2017. The fun run will also include several health-related vendors for you to speak and interact with. This year we are including a blood drive for any family members that are willing and able to donate. The vendors this year include the Pelham Road Medical Center, Fleet Feet of Greenville, Align Life Chiropractic, Jazzercise, Safe Kids Upstate, Team Series Junior Golf Program, Francis Produce donating bananas and oranges, and a Blood Drive open from 2:30-7:30 pm that day. The vendors are available to meet with families between 5:30-7:00 pm, and the fun run will start at 6:00 pm. Hope to see you there! Wear your GREEN!!

Parent Workshop

Join us for a Parent Workshop on Thursday, March 16, from 12-1 pm, in the Media Center. Gloria Marcus from Halsey Counseling will speak on "Anxiety, Stress, and Coping Mechanisms for Students." Give A Hoot Food Drive

Help Oakview Student Council lead the way in feeding the hungry in our community as we collect canned and boxed food items this week only. There are prizes for the class that collects the most items. If the school reaches its goal, Dr. Reavis, Mrs. Wheeler-Hawkins, and Mrs. Sexton will serve lunch to the school in the kitchen on March 17! Give-a-Hoot and join us for this year’s food drive!

On Saturday, February 25, 2017, our 4th grade Challenge students participated in the district's Popsicle Bridge Event at the TD Convention Center. Students were given the task of designing and building a bridge out of Popsicle sticks and wood glue. We are excited to announce that we had two of our teams win district awards. Here are the easy instructions; should take you less than five minutes to get it all set up!!

To attach your Lowes Foods Card to Oakview Elementary School, follow these simple instructions:

1. Goto lowesfoods.com
2. Click on “Rewards” link and then select “Back2Schools”
3. For the first option, “Cart to Class”, click on the “Link your school to your card” link (right-hand side of the screen)
4. Choose the option “I Do Not Have a Founder’s Club” (even if you do)
5. If this is your first time enrolling your card, click on “Enroll New Card” to get your card into their system.
6. After your card is enrolled, click on the last option “Enroll in Cart to Class”.
7. Enter your Card Number which can be found on the back of your card and the 1st 3 letters of your last name.
8. Enter “OAKVI” to find Oakview Schools - there were 3 listed when these instructions were made and our school was the last one in the list (515 Godfrey Road; Simpsonville, SC 29681)
