What's Happening in the Learning Commons
Eastview Learning Commons brings the Dakota County Library to your fingertips!
We are beginning the fourth successful year of setting up digital student library cards for our ISD 196 students. This is a partnership started between the district and the Dakota County Library to increase the variety of resources, while decreasing the number of duplicate items purchased by both entities.
The benefits include: a fine free digital student card which can be used to check out print and digital copies of books, access to databases, homework help and much more! https://www.co.dakota.mn.us/libraries/Using/StudentCards/Pages/default.aspx
In a 50 minute session, all 9th graders participated in setting up a resource folder on their iPad which included 10 top websites or apps that will enhance their reading and research opportunities. Three of the ten were Dakota County Library apps with access to digital content such as eBooks, audiobooks and magazines. Please ask your student to see more details.
All students in grades 9-12 have a digital student card from the Dakota County Library. It may need to be activated or passwords reset. Stop by the Learning Commons for assistance.

"Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. " Goodreads.com
