FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Yesterday, we came together to celebrate Mass as a school community for the Feast of the Ascension. At Mass, we heard from Paul's letter to the Ephesians, in which he exclaims "may the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know the hope that belongs to Christ's call."
As a Catholic school community, isn't this very much our mission? Enlightening the "eyes of the hearts" of our students? That is, teaching them not only academic skills, but also true wisdom, virtue, and goodness. Certainly, if we can succeed in this mission, there is much reason for the hope that St. Paul describes. Indeed, when we can truly enlighten the eyes of the hearts of our students, then, as Pope St. John Paul II states, "no fear can suffocate the hope that springs eternal in the hearts of the young."
May the last remaining weeks of school be filled with hope and joy for you and your families!
Please be sure to continue reading for important updates and information for the coming weeks!
