Week 8 Term 4
Kia ora koutou
We are excited to welcome Koron Oliver to our Inglewood whānau. Koron has been appointed to the position of team leader in Waiongana Iti. She is currently acting principal of Pembroke School and comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in collaborative teaching practice.
What a week! I hope that you have not been washed away with all of the rain we have experienced over the past few days.
It has been another action-packed week at IPS. In addition to usual classroom programmes, Year 8 students, parents and teachers enjoyed a successful dinner dance last Friday, Pukehaupapa held their 'Big Day Out' in New Plymouth, Super Skills Cricket for Years 5-8, Play ball for Pouakai and He Awhi Tanga had fun at the Brooklands Zoo.
Recently, IPS students participated in the Fresh Air Challenge organized by NPDC. The Challenge focuses on encouraging active and sustainable travel, such as walking, biking, riding a scooter, taking the bus and ride-sharing. From 19th-30th October, students logged their trips to and from school. These were collatred and the classes with the most days of 'active' travel were the winners.
Congratulations to:
Panitahi O'Connor
Pouakai Turner
Waiongana Iti Boyd
Puke Haupapa White
These classes will receive pizza and fruit one day next week.
We are all looking forward to joining with whānau to celebrate the achievements of our students at next week's service and award assemblies.

HEALTHY LUNCHES IN SCHOOLS 2021
We are excited to be invited into the Healthy Lunches Programme provided by Budget 2020 for the 2021 year ahead. This programme provides funding until December 2021 to expand the provision of daily school lunches to approximately 850 schools across New Zealand, reaching around 200,000 students from the 25 percent of schools and kura in communities facing the greatest socio-economic disadvantage.
Our school will be provided with the lunches each day for ALL children attending Inglewood Primary School, which is fantastic.
All teachers have sent a message on see-saw to all families regarding any dietary requirements. Please respond to this message as soon as possible for our records and planning purposes. Thank you
