On February 15, the new Cantata Learning book "Happy Birthday....Feliz Cumpleanos" hits the shelves.

It will be available in print and eBook. This is perfect as we celebrate Capstone's 25th Anniversary this year.

We will make this available on this Smore after the 15th. Everyone will be able to read, share and sing along!

For now....Click on the link below to listen to "Happy Birthday....Feliz Cumpleanos". It is the traditional song in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. The images in this Smore are illustrations from the book too.

You can do this by visiting the Google Document we have set up.

Please include your name, occupation, email, school and grade level that will participate in the project. This will help us get the "Happy Birthday" eBook information to you and other important things along the way.

Also, this will be the perfect place for you to connect with others that are participating in the project too. You can swap ideas, set up Skype connections, find pen pals and other classes to share with around the world.

We are excited to see and hear the celebration stories, songs, illustrations, recipes, poems, and other creations that are created by children around the world.

There are lots of ideas, resources and inspiration included below. We would love to hear your ideas too....we will add them for others to see too.

Please add all of your creations to the Google Slides presentation we have set up. The directions are included on the first slide. Please make sure you are very careful not to change formats or other slides.

We will have the first edition of the collaborative story ready to share by March 15, 2016....and we will keep adding to it and publishing throughout the year.

What a special way to celebrate the winter and holidays! And we cannot wait to celebrate creativity, reading, learning, and sharing with all of you.

This was inspired by "Winter...The Coldest Season of All" from Cantata Learning and was our first global project.

"Celebrations Around the World" will be the second project and one of many global projects with our friends at Cantata Learning.

Are your students going to write their own celebrations song and create music?

Beside Capstone's 25th Anniversary, what are the other special events we are celebrating in 2016?

Are they going to draw pictures or create a collage?

Will you have your students share their family traditions?

Are they going to have a bake-off for decorating cakes and creating new fancy recipes?

Are they going to share stories, poems, and photographs about celebrations?

Will you create origami or other paper creations for your celebration?

Are they going to research historical events and famous birthdays?

We have started a Padlet to share ideas, resources, projects, and more....And the cool things about Padlet is that YOU can share ideas there too.
