First Week of School
We appreciate the efforts of everyone this past week during our first days of school! The patience and understanding demonstrated helped to practice routines and procedures. As we move to the second week of school, students will be getting into content lessons starting on Monday. We look forward to much learning, growing, and achievement in the upcoming weeks and months!
MAP Growth Assessment Administration Next Week
Students will be taking their first MAP Growth assessments next week. Please be sure students in Grades 1-5 bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day next week (Chromebooks may still be issued on Monday). In addition, please be sure all students have a good night's rest and eat a good breakfast so they are ready to have a good day and do their best when working on the MAP Growth tests. Thank you!
Kindergarteners Are Learning Their Colors - Dress Up Days!
Please help our kindergarten students learn the names of different colors by wearing something with the color of day over the next two weeks! We appreciate everyone wearing something with the color if you can.

Dress Code Reminders
Please take a moment to review the following dress code information from the LWJES Family Guidebook. We appreciate families reviewing this information with students as well and checking for dress code each day before school.
- All students must wear shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers/dresses that are fingertip length. All jeans, pants, and trousers must be secured at waist level. No rips or tears that expose undergarments and/or located at mid-thigh or higher.
- All clothing must conceal undergarments. No skin to show between bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants/skirts at any time. Sleeveless shirts must have straps at least 3” wide. No clothing that provides minimum coverage.
- We require the wearing of shoes with soles. Tennis shoes are recommended. Shoes with wheels and house slippers are not allowed.
- Hats or headgear may be worn outside only, except on special occasions, or for bona fide reasons.
