Principal's Weekly Update
September 17, 2023
Good afternoon Holly Ridge Middle School Families,
Greetings from your principal, Jennifer Newby.
This is just a friendly reminder that our drop off time for carpool and walkers is 7:45 AM. To ensure our staff is ready to greet our students, please be sure students are not being dropped off prior to this time. Thank you so much for your continued support!
We would like to make you aware of a temporary crosswalk that has been placed in front of our bus loop entrance. This crosswalk is being provided for Holly Ridge Elementary use only because their SRO is stationed here for their carpool and walkers. It is not for Holly Ridge Middle School use. Please continue to direct our students to the crosswalk they have been using where our officer can assist with getting them safely across the street. Thank you so much!
It’s Book Fair Time! Our book fair will be October 13-20th in the media center. Here is the access to the live link for the book fair website.
In order to make our book fair a success, we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering to help with the book fair, please complete this Google Form. Our media specialist, Ms. Brown will be in contact with you. All volunteers must complete the WCPSS volunteer registration process. You can access the link here.
Student Council Interest meeting will take place Tuesday, September 19 from 3:15-4:15 pm in Room 409 with Mr. Davis. Students can sign up for Student Council on the Holly Ridge webpage.
The PEAKS Club will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 20th in room 415 from 3:15 to 4:00 pm. Please go to the clubs page on the HRMS site to sign up. We will have snacks, crafts, games, community service, and an opportunity to make friends. All are welcome! https://forms.gle/w7Y6ZiYrvHCUFtS8A

Campbell University Engineering Day: Join faculty, staff, and students to explore hands-on design challenges and team activities. Click here for more information and to register. The event will take place on November 18, 2023.
Volunteers: Anyone who plans to volunteer for the 2023-2024 school year must register using the new WCPSS volunteer system. Click “Create New Account” and complete the required fields. Unlike last year, this registration can be completed anywhere. You do not need to be on a WCPSS campus.
Registration process for WCPSS Employees who want to Volunteer: Although WCPSS employees do not have to go through a criminal record check to volunteer, you still have to register.
