Robotics Club is Coming!
Robotics is starting after Thanksgiving Break for 2nd-5th graders. There are limited spots, so be on the lookout for the signup to come through ParentSquare on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm. The teams will work together beginning the week of November 28 and continuing until they submit their video for the NISD Virtual Robotics competition in mid-April. Teams will meet on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, depending on the coach. Please make sure this is something your child wants to do and will be able to do until April.
We look forward to working with your children in Robotics this year!

Let's show our Schluter teachers how THANKFUL we are for their hard work and dedication to our students. Each $10 purchase will pay for a tasty lunch from Babe's for one Schluter teacher/staff member. On behalf of the Schluter PTA, we appreciate your generosity to our wonderful Schluter staff!

Cyber security a priority in Northwest ISD
Cyber security remains a priority in Northwest ISD, and our district spent Cyber Security Month in October providing helpful tips to stay safe electronically. Read about some of those initiatives here.
Facebook Live on December 14 addresses potential attendance boundary changes
Northwest ISD will host a Facebook Live video chat at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, to show families potential attendance boundary changes for the 2023-2024 school year.
In addition to likely changes for the 2023-2024 school year, district leaders will also provide a preview of long-term forecasting for future secondary school openings. Northwest ISD’s Facebook Live video chats typically last about 30 minutes. For questions that are not answered during the video chat, the district provides written responses within the week.
To participate in the video chat, visit the Northwest ISD Facebook page on the social network’s website or mobile app.
Follow long-range planning process for future schools, facilities
At their last meeting, the committee discussed the growth of extracurricular programs. Some potential extracurricular facilities being discussed include options for our growing fine arts programs, a second agricultural center to support a future fourth comprehensive high school and potentially building home stadiums at every high school. Learn more about their progress at www.nisdtxlrpc.org.
Help name Northwest ISD’s next elementary schools
What should Northwest ISD’s next five elementary schools be named? Let us know by submitting your nomination! The district is currently accepting nominations, including for the next school, which is slated to open in 2024 in the Wildflower Ranch community.
Submissions must meet the district’s criteria, and the proposed namesake for any nomination must no longer be living for consideration. Submit your nomination using this online form.

Free or reduced-priced meals now require 2022-2023 application
For students who meet federal requirements, school meals may be provided free or at a reduced cost. To receive this benefit, a student's parent or guardian must fill out the free or reduced-cost meal application and be granted admission into the program. While students in the program receive the same benefits briefly at the start of the following school year, the application must be completed annually to continue receiving the program's benefits. For any student who received benefits from the free or reduced-priced meal program in 2021-2022 but has not yet applied and been granted its benefits for the current school year, regular costs are now in effect.
In order for benefits to continue, an application must be completed and returned and free or reduced-price meals will continue to be provided, if the student qualifies. The application can be completed at this link. Paper applications are also available at all Northwest ISD campuses. Please direct any questions to Yen Brown, free and reduced specialist, at 817-698-1091.
Registration ongoing for annual NISD Reindeer Romp
The event begins with the 1-mile run at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10, followed 30 minutes later by the 5K race. Both races take place at Alliance Airport. Register now and select our school to help our P.E. program! Information and registration is available at www.nisdreindeerromp.com.
