It’s FUN RUN TIME DISNEY!! We are super excited for our annual FUN RUN Fundraiser on October 5th, 2023! This FUNdraiser supports community events throughout the year, such as our Fall Festival, Holiday Shoppe & Aloha Summer Fun Night. As well as academic & social enrichment: school assemblies, field trips, staff support & clubs.

This year's FUN RUN has a lot of new prizes and will be better than ever!!

• Our first winner is Miss Capoferri's class for being the first class to have 100% of their students registered on the Get Moving FundHub! The class will be voting on their prize!!
  
• Week 1 Challenge: Miss Svoboda's class won a pizza party by raising the highest percentage of their goal at 136%!
• Weekend 1 Challenge: There is still time to help your teacher win a prize by being the class with the highest amount of donations raised this weekend!

Week 2 Challenge: The class that raises the highest percentage of funds will earn a donut party for breakfast!

If you are new to Disney, your PTO provides one free class shirt for every student & employee at our awesome school. These shirts can be worn any day, but especially for field trips and school events. Everyone should fill out the online order link below to indicate shirt size! All students will receive one free class shirt; cash or check should only be submitted for additional shirt request.

All extra shirt orders and money are due tomorrow, September 25th. Any payments made after tomorrow will not be processed for an additional shirt

The second grade family is really enjoying the new IRA interactive read-aloud booksets! Students are actively engaged in our read alouds and returning to read them again during read to self times! The fun lessons encourage critical thinking and creativity. The students are doing a fabulous job finding the main idea and connecting to the story!

The fifth-grade classes learned the importance of Patriot’s Day. Disney students began their day with a “moment of silence” to honor the lives that were lost from this tragedy. Throughout the day, students viewed videos, read articles, listened to a Flocabulary song, created a 9/11 Flip Book, and completed a graphic organizer. These activities informed the students of this tragic event that took place 22 years ago. Students learned how the citizens of the United States came together to become a stronger, more unified country.

Thank you to our Disney PTO for organizing a great skate night at Great Skate. We all had a blast and looking forward to the next one!

Costume Rack - This year the PTO is having a Halloween Costume Rack that will be put out starting 10/2-10/6 for anyone that may need a costume. If you have any costumes you no longer use or want please bring them in and drop them off to the office with a note for PTO.

Agatha our Candy Monster - Be on the lookout for Agatha the candy monster. She is so excited to start being fed delicious candy donations for our annual Trunk-or-Treat.

Trunk-or-Treat - Save the date for our annual Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, October 13th. More information will be coming soon.

Students may have a variety of accidents throughout the school day that require a change of clothes. To help prevent a call home, please make sure to have an extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack in case of an accident throughout the school day. Thank you!

In addition, please add your child's name to their belongings (water bottles, sweatshirts, etc). This will help us return lost belongings to students. Thank you!

Due to student food allergies, Birthday Treats are not allowed to be brought in and shared with classmates. Students are welcome to bring in small non-food birthday treat (like a pencil or bookmark) to share and help celebrate. Thank you for your cooperation!

Destination Imagination is an educational program in which student teams, made up of 2-7 members, solve open-ended Challenges and present their solutions at fun, local Tournaments. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work together and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the Challenges, and develop innovative thinking strategies. Participants gain more than just basic knowledge and skills, they learn to unleash their imaginations and take unique approaches to problem solving.

4th & 5th Grade Girls and an important adult in their life are invited to attend...

• A maturation program to help answer questions that girls might have about their growing and changing bodies.
  
• The session will cover physical and emotional changes that occur in girls during puberty, including menstruation.
  
• A short video will be followed by a lively discussion session.

To kickoff homecoming week, FHS student council hosts their annual PowerPuff football game. Fraser High School invites our entire Fraser Community to the event!

• Game Date: Monday, September 25th
• Gates will open at 5:45pm. Kick-off is a 6:30pm.
• Fans are encouraged to dress in either Pink (to support the juniors) or Purple (to support the Seniors).
• Full concessions will be available.
• This event is an important fundraiser for both the Class of 2024 and the Class of 2025. As this is a fundraiser and not a standard athletic event, no passes or discounts will apply. All tickets are $5. (Children under 5 are free.)

When the red flag is hung outside the front of the building, this means indoor line-up. Our students will not line up at their normal door and will be able to enter the main doors at 8:20!

As a caretaker of a Walt Disney Elementary student, you are a valued member of the Team Disney Parent Teacher Organization. Disney is once again having our annual Winter Concert for all 4th, 5th, and 6th graders! Please mark down that our concert will be on Tuesday, November 28th at 7:00 PM in the FHS Auditorium. Festive and holiday formal dress is encouraged! You can never be too overdressed for a concert. Please be on the lookout for more notes home regarding special parts, permission slips, and last minute reminders. Hope to see you in there!
