Weekly Update
Holy Trinity Catholic School April 27th, 2023
Our Mission Statement
PRAYER
Lord, I pray that my words and actions may be a comfort to those in need.
Let me see the world around me through Your eyes, that I might notice the small wounds and sorrows that each of us carries within, hidden from view and known only to You.
I ask that You use my hands to do Your work here on earth, to heal the hurting, to feed the hungry, and to reach out to the lonely.
May I be an instrument of Your endless love that I might share Your spirit generously and abundantly with everyone I encounter.
Amen
A Note from Mrs. Longden
Thank you to the Holy Trinity Catholic School staff. Our school staff has done an incredible job in fostering the mission of our faith while also meeting the academic standards for the year. They have worked very hard once again like HTS staff has done for years.
In my numerous years as an educator, I can honestly say that a career in education has become more and more difficult for many reasons. Not only has the covid pandemic impacted and challenged us like never before, but also our society has changed in so many ways which creates constant stress for teachers and the school. Careers in education are brave and noble, often taken for granted by many, and are prone to less appreciation overall.
As in past years, the staff at our school is above average. Not only do they exceed the regular routines of a school schedule but our Holy Trinity staff continues to put their hearts and souls into helping other people’s children day after day after day. They do it with a smile because they love what they do and believe in making an impact on every student who they are entrusted with.
Please appreciate our school staff not only during appreciation week but always. They are helping you raise your sons, daughters, grandchildren, neighbors, and kids of your friends. They model faith, prayer, and a love for God. It is our hope that others catch this spirit of joy in their lives too.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Silence.
The one who loves you most in the world just gazing at you in love.
This is what happens in Eucharistic Adoration. Jesus—fully present in the host, is placed in the monstrance—a golden throne where we can simply see and visit with Him.
Without the Eucharist we are nothing, but with the Eucharist - the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus - we have everything. This was the secret of Mother Teresa, the secret which is present in all of our Catholic Churches. For she wrote, “Where will you get the joy of loving?-in the Eucharist, Holy Communion. Jesus has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Night and day, He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that adoration.”
Are you at peace? Are you stressed? Are you making a big decision? Are you worried? Are you thankful? Whatever state of mind you are in, Jesus wants you to bring it to Him, to sit at His feet and let Him love you.
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden

SOCIAL FEST - CLASS BASKETS
Class Baskets:
Class projects this year will be a basket provided by each class.
We are looking for one parent from each class to help with the organizing and execution of this auction item.Tasks include:
- Decide on a theme/idea for the basket
- Ask other class parents for items to fill the basket
- Email classroom teacher so they know what is coming and how to help
- Fill the basket and return to school by July 14th, 2023
Each class basket will have a unique theme. The goal is for the entire class to help solicit the items to fill the basket. Maximum value of the basket would be $500. Please see how you can help.
We are hoping these themed baskets will be a BIG HIT in our Auction again this year...these baskets can range from a night on the town for Mom and Dad, to a family trip to Virginia Beach, and a Family Game Night basket for everyone to enjoy, plus much, much more! We are asking that all parents participate in some way to support your class basket. Parents can purchase gift cards or vouchers for the basket, or donate money that will go toward the purchase of items. Questions? Have an idea for a donation for your class basket?
If you are interested in helping with your child's class, please reach out to Mrs. Longden by April 27th.

Volleyball season will be here before we know it! All HTS girls who will be in 5th-8th grade next school year are invited to a volleyball open gym session. Please encourage your daughter to come, whether she is playing for sure, or if she wants to come and check it out.
While the girls play, we will have an informational meeting about the season for the parents.
When: May 22nd from 6:30-8:00 pm. (The meeting will not take this long, but that's how long we have the gym available)
Where: HTS Cafe and gym.
Below are the forms needed in order to participate in Wildcat Athletics.
Even though there's still time, we encourage you to complete them and bring them to the meeting, so it's one less thing to think about this summer.
