Another Great Week At Tremont
We have had an AWESOME week at Tremont. Our students have learned all about how to be on TRACK. And, we had our very first Mane Event of the school year. At the Mane Event we reviewed all things TRACK, interviewed our principals, sang songs and had fun as a Tremont Family!
Please enjoy this long weekend and we are excited to see everyone back here on Tuesday, September 5th.

Good Morning Tremont (GMT) is Tremont Elementary School’s daily video announcement show featuring timely information for students and staff, as well as celebrations of classroom learning, community, and school events. GMT is hosted as “unlisted” on YouTube, viewable only though the link emailed to Tremont staff and families each school day. Throughout the school year, students have the opportunity to create content for GMT individually and as a class, in addition to being recognized as a part of school events.
During the month of September, be sure to watch for recognition of Start with Hello Week, Hispanic Heritage Month, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Mid-Autumn Festival, & more! In addition, we are excited to feature our first 5th grade class takeovers from Ms. Vedder, Mrs. Eschbach, & Mrs. Kidwell!

Start With Hello
Start With Hello Week is an annual celebration dedicated to making new social connections by engaging in conversation with one another to create a sense of belonging among young people. Start With Hello gives us an opportunity to celebrate the importance of inclusive connections.
This year, as part of the September Start With Hello week celebrations, Upper Arlington Schools will create a digital gallery of student work celebrating the themes of Start With Hello and honoring their commitment to a sense of belonging. Items featured in the gallery might include a piece of fine art, a structural design, a performance, etc., to lift up the themes of Start With Hello.
For more information about the gallery, including how to email your submissions, click here!
Canvas or PowerSchool?
Sometimes families do not know where to turn for specific grade and assignment information. PowerSchool is the district Student Information System (SIS). In PowerSchool the official BOE approved GPA calculations, grades, attendance, contact information, and forms are stored, made visible to families and sent to the state. Canvas is our Learning Management System (LMS) for grades 4-12. Assignments, details about assignments, discussions, expectations, class rules, schedules, curriculum materials, standards, etc. are found here. Students engage in the course through the LMS both in class and from home. Observers’ access is limited information about just their student.
Families can access PowerSchool for official grade and attendance data. Families can create an observer account in Canvas to review pertinent class or course information. Support for families on these two tools can be found here.

Tremont Fall Festival
Save the date for Tremont's Fall Festival - Friday, October 6, 2023 from 5:30pm - 8pm. Fall Festival is our annual social event/fundraiser where we will have food trucks, treats, carnival games, inflatables, a fall basket raffle and much more. We could not do this without all of you! Planning has started and if you are interested in helping, please email coreyajohnston@gmail.com or tina.thiara@gmail.com. Right now, we need help reaching out to vendors, booking food trucks, organizing classroom baskets and reaching out to potential sponsors. There will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer at the actual event as well.
Sponsorships needed - if you or someone you know would like to sponsor one of our games or activities, please email the above addresses. Sponsors will have signage at the event so it's a great way to get your name out there!
Games needed - several of our carnival games sustained water damage and have had to be replaced. We made great progress last year but are still in need of a couple carnival-type games. If you are handy and think you have time to make something before October 6th or you have other carnival game connections, please let us know!
New! Tremont Walking Club
Take a step in the right direction...join Tremont's Walking Club! Is your child looking for something to do during recess? Students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in the Tremont Walking Club Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 7th. Students walk around the outside of the turf field and check in with parent volunteers to track their laps and earn a charm. Parent volunteers are needed!! If you can help, please click HERE to sign up.
School Supply Sale and Other TSA Fees
This year TSA provided school supplies for every student at Tremont. There is a $35 per student fee for the school supplies. We still have inventory so if you have not already, please make sure to pay your child's School Supply Fee at your earliest convenience. They were delivered to your child's classroom on the 1st day of school. You will also be able to pay the Field Trip Transportation Fee ($15) and the 5th Grade Activity Fee ($40-5th grade families only) along with the TSA Supporter Fee ($25).
