Principal's Message
Thomas Families,
Our second grade team is awesome! It’s made up of Ms. Bender, Ms. Walters, Mr. Bowman, Ms. Garrity, and Ms. Power.
In second grade, students become stronger and more fluent readers. They have developed a reading personality, complete with their favorite book series that they can read independently! They’re adding and subtracting with more ease, and are able to write some really big numbers.
The second grade teacher team looks forward to some of their annual traditions, like the Wax Museum and visiting COSI. But they’re favorite part about second grade is how kids are still little, while growing up: gaining independence, but still adore their teachers!
Second grade is great!
Go Tigers,
Melissa Garris

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Please save the date for parent-teacher conferences! Teachers will be hosting families on Thursday, February 15 and Wednesday, February 21.
During fall conferences, we hope for teachers to have the chance to connect with all families in their class. In the winter, teachers will schedule conferences with families of students that require a specific progress update–though, of course, any family is welcome to request a conference with their teacher (even if there are no present concerns).
