We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Happy November and a belated Blessed Solemnity of All Saints! In his Angelus remarks on All Saints Day this past Wednesday, Pope Francis remarked that, "holiness is a journey, a journey to be made together, helping each other, united with those excellent companions who are the Saints... in their lives we find an example, in their prayers we receive help and friendship, and with them we are bound up in brotherly love." I pray that, in the weeks ahead our school community may, like the Saints, be a source of example, prayer, friendship, and brotherly love as we journey together through the school year!
Speaking of All Saints Day, thank you to all of our fifth grade students, families, and Ms. Strmecki for their outstanding work on their Saint Biography Projects this week! Their contributions to our All Saints Day Mass was greatly appreciated. If you missed the Mass and presentations, you can still watch the livestream on our school Facebook page - no sign in required!
Congratulations, also, to our Virtue in Practice (VIP) student award winners for October, Khloe G. and Landon L. Both students are excellent models of the virtue of studiousness. As we enter the month of November, we also have a new virtue of the month, humility, defined as accepting our limitations and God-given talents. For more information, including Home Projects for the month of November and the Saints of the Month, please see the Virtue Corner below!
Lastly, a reminder that we are beginning Unit 2 of our Friendzy Program. Students will be engaging in various activities over the next 5-6 weeks that further develop and build upon our Unit 2 Catchphrase "Love at All Times!" and the accompanying verses. In addition, we encourage all families to continue the Friendzy conversation at home. Here is the latest Parent Letter for Unit 2 that outlines the Catchphrase, Key Verses, and Conversation Topics for families.
