Girls Basketball: Regional Semifinal Information
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team will face Grissom in the AHSAA 7A Northeast Regional semifinal on Tuesday. The game will be played at Jacksonville State University and will begin at 9am. The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the regional final to be held on February 20.

Live Stream:
Tuesday's game will be streamed live on the NFHS Network. Because this is a postseason event, a NFHS subscription will be required
Parking:
Parking has been added into the ticket price along with all facility fees. JSU will monitor the lots as well as provide lights and cameras for protection
Clear Bag Policy:
A clear bag policy is in effect for all athletic events at JSU. This includes all AHSAA Regional games
Rules and Regulations:
No megaphones/artificial noise makers. CONFETTI WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE COLISEUM during the tournaments
Concessions:
JSU concession stands are cashless (credit or debit card only)
HT Girls Basketball Schedule/Results:
Wrestling: Huskies to Send Eight to State
The AHSAA North Section Tournament was held this weekend at the Birmingham Crossplex. HT Wrestling placed 4th as a team and qualified eight athletes for the State Tournament next weekend in Huntsville.
Clark Box finished in 1st place in the 120lb division and earned 23 team points. Gavin Bittle was 2nd at 106 and earned 22 team points. Bradley Hastings was 2nd at 126 and earned 18 team points. Ian Hodgin won on Saturday to finish 3rd at 132 and earned 16 team points. Jacob Triplett was 2nd at 157 and scored 21 points. Charlie Buttiker was 2nd at 165 and scored 20 team points. Deuce Alston was 2nd at 190 and scored 22 team points. Zack Chatman was 2nd at 285 and earned 21 team points.
The AHSAA State Tournament in Huntsville will be held February 15-17.

Cheer: Recap from Disney
Hewitt-Trussville Cheer was well represented in Orlando, FL this weekend at Nationals. The Huskies had four routines that advanced to finals for the first time ever. Each routine placed in the top-10.
The Varsity Traditional routine finished 9th. JV Gameday set a HTHS record by finishing 3rd overall.

Girls Soccer Enjoys Successful Weekend
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer team went on the road Friday night and defeated Homewood 2-0. In the first half, Ella Cane assisted Reece Rutland to put the Huskies up 1-0. Later in the match, Brecken Phillips scored an unassisted goal to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. The HT defense held the Patriots scoreless throughout the game. Phillips and Amelia Wood combined for the shutout in goal.
The Huskies (1-1-1 overall) will travel to Hoover on Tuesday night for a 7A showdown with the Bucs.

The JV Girls Soccer team captured a trophy this weekend in Albertville. The Huskies went a perfect 4-0 to capture the title. HT beat Albertville and Mars Hill by identical 10-0 scores to open the tournament. The Huskies then beat Sparkman 2-0 to reach the championship game. In the title game, HT defeated Southside-Gadsden 3-0.
Boys Soccer Collects Trophies in Montgomery
The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Soccer team won a pair of games this weekend and captured the Capital City Cup title. The Huskies opened the event with a 4-1 win over Trinity. Sam Sharp assisted Alec Heslop to open the scoring. Later in the half, Sharp scored off an assist from Asher Tharp. In the second half, Heslop scored off an assist from Jonathon Emmerich. Heslop would find the back of the net again to wrap up the scoring.
In game two, the Huskies were down 1-0 to Wetumpka at halftime. Sam Sharp scored on a penalty kick to tie the game after Carson Jackson drew the foul. Sharp gave the Huskies the lead off an assist from Cayden Watanabe. Later in the half, Watanabe scored the final goal of the game to secure a 3-1 win.
The Huskies fell to Pike Road 2-1 in the finale. Watanabe scored a goal for HT. The +6 differential was enough Hewitt-Trussville to earn the tournament title.
Next, the Huskies will hit the road on Tuesday as they travel to face Stanhope-Elmore.

The JV Huskies also won the tournament title in Montgomery. HT beat Montgomery Academy 6-0 and Pike Road 2-0 to begin the event. The Huskies had a scoreless tie with Prattville to finish the tournament..

Softball Nationally Ranked to Begin 2024 Season
Hewitt-Trussville Softball was recognized by Maxpreps as one of the top Softball teams in the country as the 2024 season is set to begin. Maxpreps has released its preseason top-25 for high school Softball programs and the Huskies checked in at #7. HT is set to begin the season on Thursday February 15 when Tuscaloosa County visits Goldie Paine Field.

Girls Golf Set to Open Season Thursday
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Golf team will open the 2024 season this Thursday when they travel to Auburn for the Auburn Invitational Tournament. The Huskies will play in 10 events this season prior to AHSAA postseason play.

Baseball Set to Home Season at Home Saturday
The 2024 Varsity Baseball season will begin on Saturday. The Huskies will host Gadsden City in a double header beginning at 10am. The Huskies will also host James Clemens on February 19 before traveling to a tournament in Baton Rouge, LA.
The "Baseball Season Pass" grants access to all Varsity, JV, 9th Grade, and Middle School regular season home games. The pass can be purchased here:

HTMS Cheer Competes at UCA Nationals
HTMS Cheer went to National High School Cheerleading Championships hosted by the Universal Cheerleading Assocation for the first time in over ten years. The Traditional team brought home to Trussville fourth place in the nation after two elimination rounds, scoring higher than 25 teams.
The Gameday routine competed and brought home eighth place in the Nation after hitting a flawless routine two days in a row, beating out over 20 teams.
