Communities
Second grade is working on designing our own communities. Communities are where people work, play, live, and solve problems. We drew houses apartments, Altitude, parks, hospitals, police stations, our favorite stores and more!
Mrs. Phillips
Mrs. Phillips' and Ms. Atwater's class teamed up to practice our descriptive writing skills. Partnerships designed a monster. Then, they wrote a description of their monster describing each part of it with tons of adjectives. Next, they were paired with another partnership and read their description to them while they tried to recreate the original monster. It was a fun challenge and many of the replications came very close to the original!
Third grade continues to get creative! When entering the third grade pod, you will see monster arrays, written letters and creative stories. Students are working on several writing activities that include using character traits and writing letters. Mrs. Tryon’s class even made Spooky Skeletons that demonstrate figurative language!
Ms. Schautz
Mrs. Cromwell
Mr. Finkel
Ms. Kidd
Our 4th grade has started our intramural football program. We’ve had 2 games thus far with the Bucs and Dolphins winning. Attached is a picture of Office Zaffino playing quarterback during the games.
The Autistic Support Classes went to Altitude! Everyone had so much fun jumping on the trampolines, swinging on the trapeze, playing on the battle beam, playing trampoline basketball, climbing the rock wall and swinging through the zip line! Sensory input is an important part of our program and the students were excited to explore this appropriately within our community!
Free and Reduced Lunch
Beginning Monday, October 3rd, breakfast will be free of charge to all students at Neshaminy School district. Though the pandemic-era Federal program that made school meals free for all students has ended, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has appropriated funds to ensure that all students can enjoy a free breakfast at least through the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
The daily cost for lunch is $2.80 in elementary schools for this school year. Payments for school meals can be made with cash, check, or through our online payment service, School Cafe (www.schoolcafe.com).
Applications for the Free & Reduced Meal Program at Neshaminy should also be completed on the School Cafe website or on their mobile app (available for iOS and Android). Families must fill out a new application every school year to maintain eligibility.

AHERA Notice
Neshaminy School District has engaged Eagle Industrial Hygiene Assoc., Inc., to fulfill the requirements of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), 40 CFR Part 763, Subpart E. This law requires that each Local Education Authority (LEA) engage EPA accredited individuals to initially inspect and subsequently reinspect every three years all student and staff accessed areas for the presence of both friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials (ACM) and to develop an Asbestos Management Plan from the information developed from the building inspections. All areas of our facilities were inspected for asbestos containing
materials.
The Management Plan provides a description of the amount, type, location and condition of all ACM found in these areas. The Plan also contains a detailed schedule of responses and activities for handling the ACM. The Management Plan is available for review by interested parents, faculty and staff in all school offices during business hours.

Students will only be released to individuals listed on the emergency card, but the office must be notified prior to pick-up. Students must be signed out in the main office. Again, driver's license or state issued ID is required to pick up a student. We strongly encourage early dismissals be no later than 3:00 pm.
