Note from Dr. Mullenschlader
As we approach the end of the school year, we have a couple of newsletters left. As we look forward to next year, here are a couple of updates:
1. We have been working on an updated mission statement. With the school board and faculty, we have been meeting to build a mission statement that reflects our community's connectedness, the historical nature of our parish, the strength of Catholic identity, and the formation of our students. Our hope is that by the end of this school year, we will have something to reveal.
2. We are going to utilize global school wear for uniform purchasing. I am familiar with their product and availability. We have been discussing this change since January and are very excited about this. One element that I am sure you may have concerns about is the school plaid. The plaid is not changing. Along with these changes in the company comes a change in the uniform. We will grandfather the current uniform in for the next couple of years. The new uniform is linked below. We will have a uniform fitting period from June 12 - June 16. At that time, we will have samples from global school wear available for sizing and fitting.
Tomorrow we will have our annual Field Day event. This year we are having the field day on campus. I understand that in previous years field day was in a park. The decision was made in the interest of safety. This year, I recognize the weather may not be in our favor, but we are too deep into planning and supplies to move or cancel the day. We are going to have fun. If the weather cooperates, that is good news for us. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we have a plan in place that will still allow the children to have lots of fun. The day is about celebrating us as a school and having some fun at the end of the year.
