Whole & Healthy
"For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other." Millard Fuller (Founder, Habitat for Humanity International). Words that seemed fitting for a community that has had a rough couple of weeks. This must be how we move past all that has happened.

- Joshua Hyatt, Police Officer - 1 year
This week
- Officer Andrew Stott was cleared to come home from the hospital this week & received a greeting from 30 or so of his fellow officers from multiple departments. We are thankful for his well-being & look forward to his return to work. We enjoyed seeing the support these officers give each other.
- Senior Center attendance has growth to 80 participants, we are pleased to see the activities that Jeff Barge & Becky Meirath have created.
- Swimming Pool progress - the floor of the pool has been poured, moving next to the walls
- MoDOT awarded funds to replace the Regent Street Bridge located near the Elms Hotel. The work will be scheduled for 2024. The City will contribute $200K from ARPA funds as match ($1,575,600)
- Work at the Hall of Waters is progressing. This week, work will continue to repair the Water Bar Floor/Pool Ceiling.
- We were all stunned to learn about crimes that may have occurred in our community. We are thankful for professional law enforcement working the crime scene. This is still an active investigation & additional charges could be forthcoming if evidence of additional crimes is uncovered. This is a slow process. Thank you to KCPD CSI, Ray County Sheriff, Kearney, Liberty, & Lawson PD, MSHP & FBI. Especially thankful to Clay County Sheriff for covering our night patrols & support received from the ES community. We hope to be able to open up the roads around the residence late Sunday evening.
- I am hearing there is a Community Unity Rally being planned. Stay tuned as the details are developed.
