This newsletter is filled with photos from last week - including photos of our kindergarten teachers dressed up as if they were 100 years old on Kindergarten's 100th day of school. So much laughter was heard coming from the kindergarten hallway that morning when the students saw their teachers.

It is absolutely priceless to see the smiles on the faces of our students when their families walk into their classrooms. We acknowledge how busy everyone is, so we appreciate when families can time out of their busy schedules to join us for family events during the school day and in the evenings too. In the week ahead, we have our 2nd grade and 4th grade classroom family activities and our Information Night for incoming (school year '24-'25) PreK and Kindergarten families at 6:00 on 2.20.24. For families of students going into K, 1 or 2 that are interested in learning more about our Hmong Immersion Program you can join us at 5:00 on 2.20.24. We are excited to see even more families and lots of smiles from everyone this week!!!

I wanted to take a moment to thank all our staff, students and community members who helped to make our "Family Health and Wellness" event a success. We hope everyone is using their hula hoops, jump ropes and other resources you received that evening to be more active and healthier each and every day!!!

Monday, February 12th was National African American Parent Involvement Day. This day was designed to stress the importance of families getting involved in their child’s education and to celebrate the partnership between students, families and schools. In honor of this day, schools in ISD622 will embed activities/events that invite all of our families into our buildings.

At Richardson, we want to be considerate of the lack of parking, so we have decided to spread out our events over a few weeks.

We appreciate your support in helping these events run smoothly. A few things families can do to support us are... 1) Complete the RSVP for each event that you will attend that week by Thursday, Feb 8th. 2) Please review the timeframes for when parking will be allowed in our bus parking lot. 3) When attending an event, please do not go to classrooms of your other children before or after that event/activity, as this can be disruptive to classes who are not having family events that day.
