Dear JRB Families,

I want to let you know that I have accepted the principalship of Charlton Elementary, a preschool-first grade primary in south central Massachusetts, starting July 1, 2021. I want to thank you for welcoming me into your community seven years ago and giving me the opportunity to work with these wonderful children. It has been an honor to serve Ashburnham Westminster and I know wherever I go, the lessons of collaboration and community I learned here will go with me. I hope to hear of the amazing adventures of our young Ashburnhamites as they continue to learn, grow and lead us into the future.

Well, it had to come to an end sometime. The weather we've had throughout the beginning of 2021 has spoiled us for sure. So of course, as we were getting ready for a break from the routine, Mother Nature throws us a snow day curveball.

I hope this extra day is welcome in your homes, and we are very excited to continue working with your child(ren) when we all return for the last week of April.

As has been the case all year, we are asking that students bring a water bottle to school each day since the water bubblers are not in service this school year. We have had some warm days already, and only anticipate more of them, so bring that water in!

We don't anticipate major alterations to our newly established traffic patterns even with a local election taking place on April 27th. Working alongside our School Resource Officers, we will send out a map near the end of next week to point out specific small changes.

Please find the updated MCAS calendar below. We will be communicating with Cohort C families about the logistics of MCAS during the week after school vacation.

We continue to complete Pooled Testing each week to provide as much information to families as possible. If you still wish to enroll your child, you can follow the link below.

The JRB PTA is looking for your help to show our appreciation for everything that the staff does for our kiddos on a daily basis. This has been a difficult year for everyone and the entire staff did an AMAZING job under very difficult circumstances. We will be hosting a BBQ lunch during Teacher Appreciation Week on 5/5. We have started a fundraiser in an effort to offset the cost of this lunch. Anything you might be able to donate would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your continued support of the JRB Staff and PTA!
