POLICY UPDATES & COMPLIANCE REMINDERS
- The low-fat (1%) flavored milk flexibility has been extended through February 18, 2022. Schools do not need to request a meal pattern waiver from TDA to use this flexibility.
- Section 18, Food Service Contracts has been revised.
- TDA will begin a full transition to the User Access Manager in TX-UNPS and retire the FND-101 form this spring! Submit the FND-135 to get your school a superuser today.
- Onsite Monitoring is due February 1. To learn more about onsite monitoring requirements, click here.
- The School Food Authority (SFA) Verification report in TX-UNPS is due February 1.
- The 2022 Texas Summer Mandate notification or waiver is due in TX-UNPS on January 31.
- November claims are due on January 29. Don't forget to claim in the right year and right program.
- The new SFSP rates for January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022, have been released.

STUDENT ART CONTEST
TDA’s You Art What You Eat statewide student art contest engages K-12 students in learning about healthy nutrition by encouraging them to use their imagination to illustrate healthy school meals. The winning entries inspire designs for cafeteria posters, social media ads, flyers, and other resources that schools across Texas will use for celebrating National School Breakfast and Lunch weeks. Submissions are due March 4, 2022.

YOUR TURN ON THE MIC
This year, 89 Texas schools completed their pledge to serve more Texas products to children and teach them about local agriculture. Through this challenge, more than $10.2 million were spent on local foods. Districts that completed the challenge will receive recognition in the new year!

IMPORTANT: TX-UNPS FDP DEADLINES FOR PY 2022-2023
January 31: FDP Contract Packet and Checklist items must be submitted
February 7: DoD Fresh entitlement distribution will be completed for the CEs who opted to participate in the program with available minimum entitlement remaining. Check the Weekly Commodity Bulletin for your DoD Fresh entitlement balance.
February 8: Opening date for the Farm to School survey.
March 1: Closing date for the Annual and Processing surveys.
July 29: Closing date for the Farm to School survey.
