Naquag Families,
Happy Long Weekend! Kind Reminders & Updates:
Tuesday, January 21: WEAR BLUE TO SCHOOL
- Everyone is encouraged to wear blue to school on Tuesday, January 21 in remembrance of Britney Gengal. Britney was a Rutland native that attended Naquag Elementary. In January 2010, as a vibrant nineteen year old Lynn University sophomore, she traveled to Haiti to work for an aide group. A devastating earthquake claimed her life along with other classmates and Haitian natives. Britney’s dream was to someday open an orphanage in Haiti. The BeLikeBrit organization has built an orphanage in Haiti housing 66 children, following Britney’s dream. (BeLikeBrit Organization) We invite Naquag staff and students to remember Britany Gengel on Tuesday, January 21 by wearing blue. Everyone is invited to WEAR BLUE on Tuesday, January 21 in honor of Britney Gengel’s 30th birthday.
