NEED 2 KNOW
Bear Creek's RLC
Bear Creek's Redefining Learning Conference is taking place next Friday, March 10 at Langston Hughes HS. With the biggest parking lot in the county, Langston Hughes is the perfect spot for hosting this incredible conference!
With so much to do on this day, the conference is starting early! (Plus, it gets us out before traffic is crazy!) Registration will be available between 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a..m., so if you're coming from a distance, you'll have some flexibility, but please try to arrive as close to 7:00 a.m. as you're able to.
Reminder: The RLC committee would like to arrange a meet-up between Vanguard members and Vice President of Microsoft Education, Anthony Salcito, as well the team behind FlipGrid. If you have not already registered for the RLC, please do so by using the link below.
Vanguard Forums
In addition to the amazing 150+ Breakout sessions and REDTalk Keynote speakers, Vanguard has two AWESOME forums taking place next week at the Bear Creek Redefining Learning Conference 2.0. At 11:35 Charlie Miller and the minds behind Flipgrid will be sitting down to talk with Vanguard members around the topics of Student Voice, Design thinking, as well as Instruction & Innovation. Later that afternoon Anthony Salcito, Microsoft VP of Global Education wants to talk with you about how 365 supports Vanguard in accomplishing the great things we do in our schools and classrooms.
For more information email BearCreekRLC@fultonschools.org and register to attend at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bear-creek-redefining-learning-conference-20-tickets-30895952626
Over 1,200 teachers have register to attend don't get left out of this exciting day of learning!
Stipend Purchasing - Deadline Approaching
- Purchases must be made by March 15 or the funds are recalled from the school.
- Purchases should benefit students, whether directly or indirectly.
- When you receive your items, please check with your bookkeeper regarding whether or not your item needs to have a Fulton barcode.
- The items belong to Vanguard. If you leave Fulton County, they must be returned.
Applications to Present at GaETC are Available
If you're interested in presenting at GaETC in November, the application is now available! Consider teaming up with another Vanguard member or a KSU iTeach coach. Either way, it's a great opportunity to share your knowledge with others.
Applications are due on April 1, 2017.
NWLC - Collaboration Event Open to All
NWLC leads Pam Kelly and Beth Miller are hosting some FUN mixed with collaboration!
Andretti’s in Roswell has both a Happy Hour and ½ off attractions (except karting). ES & HS attendees can get a few tables and the later MS group can then join.
To add to the fun, there will be name tags AND room for an App/Website/technology you know about (want to tell others how great it is) and an App/Website/technology/application you want to learn about. This way you can easily start a conversation or match up with like groups.
