Hi, my name is Amisha Chandra. I became a part of Legacy's inaugural class as a freshman, and it has been an amazing four years. Those who know me know that I love designing and building robots, and this season marks my 6th year in competitive robotics. I have also been dancing Indian classical since before I could read and plan to continue for years to come. Outside of my hobbies, I love spending time with my friends and family, trying new foods, and going on day trips. Some of my dream colleges are UCSD, UCLA, and Georgia Tech because of their hands-on engineering programs, beautiful campus, and fun college life. Once I graduate high school, I plan on pursuing mechanical engineering at my top colleges (fingers crossed 🤞) and would like to earn a bachelor's and master's degree in that area of study. After attending an entrepreneurship academy, business administration has developed into a newfound interest of mine. If I get accepted into a dual degree program or am eager to stay in school longer, exploring business management with engineering seems compelling. Legacy has taught me to push myself academically and as a person. The guidance and support of teachers and project-based learning encouraged me to go beyond just proficiency, and instead, achieve mastery, as we say at LMA. As a part of the first graduating class, Legacy has taught me the value of leadership and shaped me into a curious, ambitious learner, something that will stay with me forever. While the future seems scary, I feel optimistic about the new opportunities I can explore and all the cool people I can meet. People always say it gets better after high school, and it has been great so far, so I am excited about whatever the future holds for me. If I look ahead ten years, I can see myself living in an apartment in the city (preferably with a cat), working for a defense company, and participating in research projects. I hope to learn how to cook and bake better because there is a lot of room for improvement there. I would also like to travel the world and explore new cultures with my friends and family.

Hi, my name is Kaleb Reshamwalla. I first joined Legacy in the middle of my freshman year. It was difficult to adapt to the environment initially, coming to a brand new school, and not knowing anybody. Over the past 4 years, I have made tons of new friends and a lot of memories. I joined the robotics team as well as several clubs. I also joined the Tustin High Soccer team. One hobby that I enjoy is sports, both watching and playing sports, but I also love programming games and websites. After high school, I want to go to a 4-year university to study computer science or mechanical engineering. My dream college is UT Austin because of the campus life, weather, and the quality of the majors. I hope to major in computer science or mechanical engineering at an out-of-state college. Maybe in-state, we’ll see. One thing from Legacy that will go on with me to the future is the memories I made here. Whether it is qualifying for states in robotics, participating in the lunchtime activities every Friday, dressing up for the spirit wears, or even bringing a toaster to anything but a backpack day. I will forever cherish these memories. I am very nervous about the future, especially with all of the adult responsibilities that come with growing up. Sometimes I think back to my 5th-grade life with no homework and playing soccer with my friends every day. Although the future can be stressful, I am also excited about it. I think if I were to see myself at 28 years old, I would have a job in the technology industry pursuing computer science and living in California or Texas. Being able to have my own freedom and take care of myself is something I look forward to, so I’m excited to see what the future has in store for me.

We want to extend a huge thank you to 12th grader Abby Dash and her family. Abby recently completed her "Ranga Pravesh" Performance, a culmination of years of hard work and dedication to her craft. If that wasn't reason enough to celebrate Abby, she further chose to make this event one with an additional purpose, to raise funds for her school. Abby and her family donated over $5,000 towards equipment for our new gymnasium. We are grateful for this support, and so proud of Abby's accomplishments.

We hope you all enjoyed our LMA tea party at 7 Leaves! Thank you to those who supported ASB by posting your drink on your Instagram story, and tagging both @7leavescafe and @legacyasb. We were bubbling with excitement seeing all of your DELICIOUS drinks!

The first pop up shop was a hit and we can’t wait to reward our RISING students again with our goodies such as snacks and merch! Remember to show RISE and be a part of the TIDE in order to get RISE tickets in exchange for our prizes.

TIDEPool tutoring takes place every Tuesday during Point Break! Middle school students can head to the downstairs commons to seek help from our experienced high school tutors. Tutoring starts at 2:05 and ends at 2:55 - we can’t wait to see you at the TIDEPool!

October is Breast-Cancer awareness month. Breast Cancer is a serious disease that affects millions of people a year. Great ways to help breast cancer patients and survivors are to visit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or go to breastcancer.org! Here at Legacy we will host activities throughout the month to spread awareness.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month we will be wearing Teal, Steel, and Pink every Friday in October! By wearing pink we are supporting those who were affected by Breast Cancer, so make sure to wear your legacy gear with some pink flair!

October is also LGBTQ+ history month. We hope to recognize their actions during the Civil Rights movement, and honor their amazing achievements. Another way to support the LGBTQ+ Community is to donate to the Trevor Project.

¡Vamos a bailar! Head to the circular quad during lunch on Friday October 6th to see the spectacular OCSA Folklorico dancers perform. El Baile Folklorico is a traditional dance from Mexico’s different regions and we are EMOCIONADOS to see the fantastic performances at Legacy!

¡Viene el Paletero! On Friday October 6th, there will be a Paleta Cart in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. Make sure to bring $1, and look for our DELICIOSA Paleta cart at lunch!
