OMS Families,

We've had beautiful weather this week! We hope you have had an opportunity to be outdoors and soak up that sunshine.

On Tuesday, we celebrated our February HOOT winners with a special lunch and activity. We really enjoy spending time with students and learning about how they earn their "HOOT" tickets by contributing to our positive school community.

Hoot, Hoot, Hooray! Keep that HOOT behavior coming our way!

Upcoming Author Visit!

OMS is pleased to host another author visit for our students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Beth Vrabel, a middle-grade author, will visit on Friday, March 13th, to share her new novel The Newspaper Club. Her book features a team of young reporters who work together to investigate and report on real news in their quest to stop fake news and rumors from circulating through their town. Get Burbed Challenge!

Registration is open for the 9th Annual ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge on April 25, 2020! Choose the 5K or 1 mile and walk or run with friends and neighbors who are coming together to raise funds for the ABC/25 Foundation. All proceeds are put directly back into our schools and classrooms through teacher grants for innovative teaching methods and materials. Register by March 22nd to receive early registration perks including a $5 discount on the entry fee, a guaranteed race t-shirt and the option to have your race packet delivered to your D25 school. Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)

The IAR testing window is March 11th-March 20th. Make-up testing will be completed the week after spring break, March 30th-April 3rd. Students in grades 3-5 will be taking this assessment in math and English/Language Arts. Please click here for additional information regarding the IAR test from our district assessment website.
