An evening honoring the late Brenda Perryman and Scholarship Fundraiser. Our Beloved Drama and English Teacher, Local TV Show Host, and National Performer to be publicly honored in an evening of performances planned by her former students, family and friends. Brenda K. Perryman, a retired Southfield High School, English and Drama Teacher who taught there for 30+ years, passed away from complications related to COVID-19 early in the pandemic on April 5, 2020. Family, friends, and former students are planning a public celebration of her life on Friday, February 10th at Southfield High School for Arts & Technology auditorium (24675 Lahser Road Southfield, MI 48033). Doors will open at 6:30 pm, and the show begins promptly at 7:30 pm followed by a memorial dedication and dessert reception.
As with many families, there was a hesitancy to bring hundreds of people together to memorialize her in 2020 and even 2021. But after more than two and a half years the family, friends, and former students feel comfortable coming together to honor her in a way that she deserves - on stage. The celebration of her life will begin as you enter the school, and will include a walk through her legacy, and the show will include some the video tributes, comedy, music, poetry/spoken word pieces, and acting performances by friends and former students to name a few.

sponsor, leave a video tribute, or make a donation. All proceeds will go towards the Brenda Perryman Outstanding Artist Scholarship Fund. The organizers want to raise at least $25,000 towards establishing a standing scholarship in her name to help with costs related to college for graduating seniors towards their continued education as an artist. Tickets are $25.00.
