Cougar Pride News
Conway Elementary School - January 22, 2024
Hello Cougar Families!
We have noticed that we have students being dropped off at the front of the building, prior to 8:30 who are not attending Project Succeed. Please understand that only Project Succeed students should be dropped off in the front of the building, and prior to 8:30. All other students should be dropped off in the back of the building after 8:30. Cars in the front disrupt the bus traffic and should never be in the front lanes during bus drop off (between 8:30-9:00). If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to the Main Office.
We will be wrapping up the Winter NWEA testing this week. Please be sure to send your child to school on time, everyday. The more they are here, the more they learn and are able to build consistent routines. Reading at home is still the recommendation for students of all ages. 20-30 minutes a night, either being read to, reading to someone else or reading independently goes a long way for student progress. Please reach out to classroom teachers if you have any questions on what to be reading. Lastly, please be sure to send library books back to school once your child has finished reading them. We have quite a few books that are in high demand, and students are often forgetting their books at home. Books can be returned any time, and do not need to come in on a specific day. Thank you for your help with this!
There will be an early release day on Wednesday, 1/31 at 12:30 for a teacher workshop. Please let us know if there will be any changes to your child's routine. Please check out our other Upcoming Events in the section at the bottom!
Winter Activities - Day 1
Every School Day Counts
It is so important that students are here every day because every school day counts. Students are much more successful academically when they are in school on a consistent basis, but they are also more successful socially as it takes time to build strong relationships with their teacher and peers.
School hours are 9:00AM - 3:15PM. If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to call the main office, prior to 9:00AM to let us know. The number is 603-447-3369.
Support Your Child to be Successful in School
Help your child understand that school is their very first job!
- Make great school attendance a priority for your child.
- Talk to your child about the importance of daily attendance in every class and how it helps his/her learning.
- When students miss so much school they will not be prepared for Kindergarten, learning to read by the third grade, failing courses in middle school and dropping out of high school.
Help your child develop good habits
- Help your child practice good daily habits like:
- finishing homework and placing it in his/her backpack
- laying out clothes and the backpack in the evening
- having a regular bedtime for a good night's sleep
- leaving early enough in the morning to get to school on time.
- turn off electronic devices one hour before bedtime.
- Help your child build responsibility skills by reminding them to make up any missed school work after an absence.

Important Reminders
- If you are picking up your student in the afternoons, please be sure to put out the name card up on your dashboard to be seen. Also, please keep two lanes of traffic until you reach the corner of the brown building (Music Room).
- Our main form of communication with parents is through email. Please make sure that your email is updated in PowerSchool. It is extremely important that we have all of your contact information in case of an emergency with your child. Please update any home or cell phone numbers in PowerSchool. We have found that many parents voice mailboxes are full or they have not set up their voicemail. We ask that you also update your emergency contact names and phone numbers.
- If there is a change in routine for your child's afternoon plans please communicate them with your child's teacher and the main office by sending a note into school, an email, or a phone call.
- Students may bring devices (phones, ipods, smart watches etc.) to school. However, the devices will be placed in backpacks for the duration of the school day. CES is not responsible for lost or missing items.
