Geneva Bus Riders - 1:15 pm dismissal- Monday, January 22
As our school tours have become more frequent, we are asking for help with students wearing the appropriate uniform attire. I have attached below the policy from our handbook. We want our prospective parents to have a good impression and this also helps us with being consistent. Your help with this is much appreciated.
In this newsletter you will find a flyer with all our Catholic Schools' Week events.

Family Fun Night - Volunteer Sign Up
Our PTO really needs some more help at the Family Fun Night with monitoring and supervising the bounce houses. We will not be able to run all of them if we do not have enough volunteers.
Contact Jessica Ciancaglini (jessica.ciancaglini@dor.org) if you can help. Thank you!
Don't forget to send in your child's special person lunch invitation.
The Scholastic Book Fair is Back!
Dear Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the big event, which will take place: Say goodbye to cash (but we will still accept cash and cards) and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stfrancisststephen
to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
The countdown to the book fair is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Happy reading,
Ms. Pohorence

America Reads Starts February 5th!
We are pleased to welcome back the America Reads program starting February 5th.
If you are unfamiliar with the program, Hobart and William Smith students volunteer to tutor and mentor students in K-8 twice a week. We have a Monday/Wednesday group and a Tuesday/Thursday group. The purpose of the program is to provide remediation and enrichment in reading and writing. Students do shared reading and literacy activities to build skills for classroom success.
Space is limited in each group to 8 students. If interested, please reach out to Ms. Pohorence (suzanne.pohorence@dor.org). Note in the email which group you want for your child and if you have more than one child in the school, which children will participate. It is a first come, first serve sign up.
