The 2022 marching band season ended on Saturday, October 22nd, with a trip to the USD Dakota Days parade. The band placed first in their class. Throughout the season, the band won outstanding drum majors, outstanding percussion and outstanding color guard as well as the Star of the great plains award at the Big Sioux Review competition. The show was titled Undercover and if you didn't catch it, you can view it on the website under past performances in marching band. Next year's show reveal and informational meeting will be held in the springtime, date TBD.

McKenzie Swearingen will be representing the band program at All-State Orchestra. McKenzie is a percussionist for RHS and will be performing on October 29th at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. For ticket information, click here.

Students are required to wear concert black attire.

The requirements for attire are as follows of two options:

- white shirt (button up), black bow tie (purchased either online or in store), black dress pants, black dress shoes, tux coat

- dresses (knee length or longer), dress slacks, polos and items of the like are advised

ALL band parents are HIGHLY encouraged to attend the monthly Band Parents Association meetings! The RHS BPA provides the fundraising dollars and volunteer support that are ESSENTIAL to helping our childresn have sucessful band experiences. BPA meetings are held monthly and are open to ALL BAND families. Show your support for your student and the entire band program at RHS! We have MANY leadership roles to fill for next year.

The next BPA meeting will be November 16th @ 6:00 pm at the Prairie West Library.
