
Snapshot - Home Learning Edition

Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We would like to continue to share the achievements of our students during this uncertain time. Each week we will include new ideas for student challenges to do at home, nominations of students who we are celebrating in each subject, and updates from the home learning team. If you have done a piece of work you are really proud of, or have completed one of our challenges and would like to share it in Snapshot next week, please email this to homelearning@corbytechnicalschool.org with the title of the email being 'Snapshot', including a short description of your work, and we will choose a selection to share.

Maths:
Nominated this week are Year 8 students Robert, Melissa and Dylan for not only completing their assignments to a fantastic standard last week but also attempting an challenging follow-up extension task.
English:
Year 9 students - Milana, Daniel, Klaudia, Jenna L, Kian, Alfie, Sammah and Brandon W are nominated for a good understanding and analysis of the poem in their poetry assignment.
Year 10 student Shay - for always being the first to hand his assignment in.
Year 10 Drama students Tamsyn Marli Zak and Aston, for being really effective in completing their assignments this week.
Humanities:
The following Year 10 students have been nominated for achieving 100% scores in their most recent assignments: Carmen, Patryk, Lily and Katie,
Science:
This week Science have nominated the following for their hard work: Year 10 students Shay, Ana, Dragos, Jude and Aiden. Also nominated are Year 8 students Harry E, Oliver P, Isabella, Todd and Olivier J.
MFL:
Year 7 students Maya, Miranda, Jakub and Mariyah for perfect plenary quiz and excellent effort in Spanish.
Design and Technology:
Nominated this week is Year 8 Olivier for his outstanding effort on his art booklet. Above and beyond on the amount of work he has done – really amazing. Also nominated are Miss Blencowe's Year 7 Art students who have all clearly put in a lot of effort, and I am super impressed with them all!
Year 9 Denisa did extremely well in last week’s assignment – 20/20 – and lots of other Year 9’s did very well in fact overall, their best home learning week yet and it made Miss Blencowe very happy! Super work Year 9 Food!
PE - Virtual Sports Day
The PE department would like to thank all students and families who took part in the Virtual School Sports Day over the school break. There were some fantastic entries, and it is great to see our students keeping fit and active.
Please make sure you watch the whole school assembly that will be posted in the tutor teams this week, as this is when the results will be announced.
Home Learning Nomination
Following the Virtual School's Challenge, Year 7 student Oliver poem and Freddie (Year 7) and Nive's (Year 9) mini movie have made it into the top 10 and the Dragons will make their final decision shortly. Thank you to everyone who took part. MIss Buffini really enjoyed seeing all the entries.
Year 7 student Harry E has been going above and beyond with work for DT and Art since the start of lockdown, and just being extra brilliant.
In addition to this he has also been keeping MIss Blencowe in the loop regarding his new bedroom design which he has been working on himself. He had produced all the ideas and colour scheme and is going to be having some professional graffiti done as well.
His energy, motivation and enthusiasm deserves a special mention. It is also safe to say that he has cheered us up as well with all his amazing efforts.
