The Dolphin Whistle
October 21, 2020 Issue 12
MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
Our next School Spirit Day is Friday, October 30th. The theme this time is HALLOWEEN or Fall Colors. I'm looking forward to seeing the videos students post on FlipGrid. Please also send a picture to my number if you are willing to have the photo on the school Facebook page.
Textbook Distribution
The next round of textbooks and school supplies that students will need is being distributed to you on Wednesday, Oct. 28th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you can't make it in those hours, please make arrangements for a friend or relative to come and pick them up if possible.
Thank you for helping your child to understand the importance of participating fully in class, just like when they are here in person. They will be much more successful and more learning can happen for everyone when students are participating and transitioning quickly between activities.
I would like to thank two of our community partners for their generosity. The Kindergartners loved their bookshelf and 12 books from Reach Potential and K-2 students were happy to get a science kit to do at home at their leisure, donated by Science is Elementary.
The food pantry through Reach Potential continues twice a month and soon we will be starting a food pantry on the in-between weeks through CSA. We are grateful for the collaborative spirit in this community!
Have a wonderful week,
Ms. Lambert

Together We Are a Better MVWSD: Special edition: ELECTION!
Mountain View Whisman School District embraces its role in establishing its commitment to equity in our district. As part of our "Together We Are a Better MVWSD" series, here is a special edition on the Nov. 3 election.
Participating in elections is one of the key freedoms of American life. Many people in countries around the world do not have the same freedom, nor did many Americans in centuries past. No matter what you believe or whom you support, it is important to exercise your rights. We celebrate the upcoming election cycle by publishing materials for teachers and parents that promote civic engagement amongst students and give resources to parents about how to secure their participation in this year's election. Both the links and QR codes will take you directly to the recommended resources.
