Happy Friday Wildcats!
Congratulations to our Students of the Week: EJ H. (High School), Makenna H. (Middle School), Camilo W.V. (Elementary), and Hayden A. (Athlete).
Here at KSB we hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving break! It’s hard to believe that it’s already December. Wrestling and cheerleading practice are under way and gearing up for competition in January. Some fun activities to look for this month are Santa’s workshop on the 12th and 13th where all students can shop for one dollar per item. On December 21st , starting at 9:30, Elementary, 11th and 12th grade students will perform the annual holiday musical. Afterwards, please join us for brunch and a visit from a special person in food service.
Please keep your eyes out in the next few weeks for a survey on communication coming your way. We value your feedback as we always want to know how we can improve and how we’re doing well.
Have a wonderful weekend and please take good care!

Week of November 13:
The week before break was a flurry of activities for the Howser dorm students and staff as we kicked off Sunday evening supper time with a pre-Thanksgiving meal of fried chicken ( yeah, I know, it was not turkey or ham??) but we did have green beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese with hot rolls and Kool-Aid all prepared by our own Ms. Connie and the Independent dorm crew. They did an outstanding job! We had such a good visit and time talking about Thanksgiving stories and traditions that we did this for recreation time. On Monday night after supper time, we had a great time in the recreation gym with a new game called " pool noodle relays". This consisted of students working together as a couple or small group and moving together from one end of the gym to the other on time and racing. We also had some group races as we went around the court in a circle in a small group holding on to one or two noodles. It was a great group activity that brought lots of smiles and laughter. On Tuesday night after supper, we had our Independent students taking a field trip with Ms. Connie to Atherton High School for a career and college fair and it was a huge success that the students told us all about on their return. The rest of the dorm students and staff participated in a game of kick ball in the recreation gym and also had stretching and calisthenics with lots of movement activities and a new game of chess bowling. On Wednesday night we had another great evening at Howser Dorm after supper time with recreation time in the dorm activity center with games, board games and bingo. There was a variety of interest of different games. Thursday night ended the week with games in recreation gym and movie with popcorn and soft drinks. A very exciting and fun week as all children and staff were excited about the upcoming Thanksgiving break.
Week of November 27
After coming back from a long Thanksgiving break the students met in the dorm, and we discussed what adventures they had over Thanksgiving, and what everyone had to eat, and where they spent Thanksgiving and favorite foods, and deserts while they ate breakfast burritos. Monday night brought about an opportunity for the students to visit with John and Trish Aaron and their therapy dogs Olive and Bella, and talk about why they love dogs, and the students gave them treats and plenty of petting and brushing. The mid-week adventures continued on Tuesday night as Ms. Connie took the students and staff to the St. Matthews's mall to watch the Christmas movie "Wish" and they enjoyed a snack pack with drink, popcorn and a snack of their choice. It was a good movie, and all the students and staff had a great time. On Wednesday supper time was moved to the dorm with an adventure meal due to the cafeteria still having some heating issues. After the picnic in the dorm activity center the students enjoyed time in recreation gym with walking, stretching and playing different games around the gym. We also had a group of students working on putting up Christmas lights and decorations and placing ornaments on the trees. It has been a very busy and magical time here at Howser dorm so far this week on the campus of KSB.
Thursday brought about another evening of eating a meal in the dorm activity center and then watch a Christmas Show on Big screen in recreation gyn lobby, with more walking and stretching activities in the gym. Also, we will be doing more Christmas decorating to get ready for our upcoming parties for the holiday. It has been another fun week at Howser Dorm putting away Thanksgiving and preparing for Christmas and laughing and playing along the way.
Tis the Season!!
Until Next Time
