Happy Fall! We hope you are enjoying the mostly cooler weather and staying cozy on the rainy days. Just some reminders: Please call the office (or you can email us also at tpfenning@pps.net and mkralice@pps.net) so we can update your students' attendance by 9:30 am.

FoodCorp Information
Garden Club:
The SUN Garden Club will be happening on Thursdays
throughout the school year. This will be a space for students to
explore and tend to the garden onsite and have fun getting their
hands in the dirt! This space has historically been a bee and
bird garden and we want to expand that by planting more
vegetables throughout the year. Ultimately, your students will be
leading the vision within this garden as we learn about it
together. During our first meeting, students co-created garden agreements and even named the space. Welcome to the Eastside Planter’s Garden!
National Farm to School Month:
October is National Farm to School month, where we celebrate all things Farm to School. PPS is a pioneer in Farm to School, where many of the foods served on the line are sourced locally from farms right here in the PNW. Celebrate with your family by visiting a farm during the harvest season and explore the importance of growing food for our communities.
And of course it’s pumpkin season! A trip to the pumpkin patch is a great way to connect with a local farm and have loads of fun, too.

2nd & 3rd Grade Families - Dental Sealant Permission Slips Due
To our 2nd and 3rd grade families: Please make sure to get your dental sealant permission slips back that you should have received at the beginning of the year if you want your students to get free dental sealants. These may happen as soon as November, so we need those forms back for our dental sealant team to plan.
