Parent-Teacher Conference Registration Opens Next Week
Naperville 203 will soon begin scheduling spring Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will be held virtually, via Zoom, on Thursday, March 7, from 5-8:30 p.m., and on Friday, March 8, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. All Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place via Zoom. In the case that you are unable to participate via Zoom, please contact the teacher directly.
Now Open: Kindergarten Enrollment For 2024-2025 School Year
We are excited to welcome the future Class of 2037! To enroll for kindergarten in the 2024-25 school year, a student must turn 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024. Enroll now and mark your calendar for the March 11 Kindergarten Preview, where you and your child will have the opportunity to meet the school's administrators, the kindergarten teachers, other school personnel, and representatives of parent organizations.
Take the Illinois 5Essentials Survey
As a parent or guardian of one or more students attending a Naperville 203 school, your feedback is requested via participation in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The purpose of this online survey is to understand your perceptions in the areas of connectedness, satisfaction, interaction, involvement, and quality. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, March 29.

Virtual Community Event: Naperville 203 Black History Month
The Department of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging is hosting a Black History Month virtual community event featuring, Matthew Delmont, Ph.D. All are welcome to attend.
Event Date: 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 22
Topic: The Past and Future of Black History Month - Dr. Delmont will highlight hidden figures from Black history and explain why this history should be studied and celebrated not only in February but all year round.

Mental Health Symposium - Saturday, March 9
Indian Prairie School District 204 is inviting you to attend the second annual Mental Health Symposium on Saturday, March 9, at Metea Valley High School from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The symposium will include a keynote session and panel discussion, multiple breakout sessions for teens and parents, and a community resource fair. Childcare will be provided for children ages 3 - 10.
The keynote session will be presented by Dr. Devorah Heitner, author of Growing Up in Public and Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World. Dr. Heitner's work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and CNN Opinion. She has a Ph.D. in Media/Technology & Society from Northwestern University and has taught at DePaul and Northwestern. Following the keynote, a panel of local experts will discuss the relevance of Dr. Heitner’s presentation in our schools and local community.

The Rotary Club of Naperville is now accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors. Scholarship applicants must live within the attendance boundaries of Naperville School District 203 or Indian Prairie School District 204 and must graduate from high school during the academic year of application. - Teen Philanthropy Initiative Grants Available: KidsMatter is proud to announce that the Teen Philanthropy Initiative (TPI) students have $10,000 in available grant funds to be awarded to area nonprofits! Applicants must be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization and be able to complete their project between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025. Proposed projects/programs must directly benefit young people ages 21 or younger within the Chicagoland area and involve young people in the planning or delivery of the project/program. The maximum award is $5,000. Proposals are due Monday, February 19, 2024 with awards announced later this spring. Youth Mental Health First Aid Class: March 7
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults (parents, teachers, caregivers, etc.) how to assist adolescents (age 12-18) facing mental health or addiction challenges. The course covers common issues, adolescent development, and a 5-step action plan for crisis and non-crisis situations, addressing topics like anxiety, depression, substance use, psychosis-related disorders, AD/HD, and eating disorders.
