COLLEGE SPIRIT WEEK
Monday, 10/23 - DRESS 4 $UCCE$$- Students and faculty will be encouraged to dress in business professional/casual attire. The idea is to introduce students to professional attire and the appropriate settings to wear them, while also showing how professional wear can still be stylish.
Tuesday, 10/24 - Career Day- Students and faculty will be encouraged to dress as the profession they intend to pursue (for faculty this can be a prior profession or a profession they thought they were going to pursue prior to becoming teachers). The idea for this theme is to generate conversation about how and why college is necessary, if at all, to reach these professions.
Wednesday, 10/25 - Military/Camo Day- Students and faculty will be encouraged to wear camouflage or appropriate military paraphernalia. This day will be used to recognize the ways in which the military can be a route to higher education, higher education can be a route to the military, and/or the ways it can make college accessible. Military recruiters from different branches will be in the building to detail how enlistment can be a route to college, and the additional benefits the military can provide.
Thursday, 10/26 - College/Mascot Day- Students and faculty will be encouraged to wear their favorite/alma mater college swag, or dress as a college mascot. It will be encouraged that faculty go above and beyond on this day to really sell the college spirit within the school. As much college attire and paraphernalia that one could wear would be appreciated.
Friday, 10/27 - School spirit attire
RED RIBBON WEEK is October 23 - 31
In recognition of the largest drug prevention campaign in the United States we are support this week and ask that you wear RED on Thursday, 10/26.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
Excuse Absences:
- Use parent vue to excuse your students absences
- Send your student in with a signed note to hand to our attendance office located in the main office. The note will be verified then excused if reason is accepted.
- Parents may send an excuse absent note via email to FDHS-ATTENDANCE@PWCS.EDU with student name, student number and reason for absence. If reason for absence is an excused absence, we will update this in your student's attendance. The email used, must be from an email on our files of the parent or guardian.
Excused Tardy :
Tardy's to school may only be excused when the student signs in with a handwritten note from a parent or guardian indicating an excusable reason (ie: illness, medical appointment, medical emergency). Excuse tardy to school notes are NOT accepted the next day or via email.
Early Dismissal:
Parents and guardians are asked to support your student's education by keep your students in school. Scheduling appointments when school is not in session is imperative to your student's success. It also minimizes the disruption of class instruction for all students.
If you would like to sign your student out of school during the school day, please send your student in the morning with a note to be verified at the beginning of the day or email FDHS-ATTENDANCE@PWCS.EDU by 8:30 a.m. (so that we may verify the note). Your student will receive the early dismissal pass before they need to leave. The student simply will need to inform their teacher before the class begins that they have to leave, then leave at the time indicated on the pass. This will help minimize the disruption of classroom instruction.
Parent or guardian on our records may also sign their student out before 1:30 pm. Identification is required to sign out a student. Please understand that emergency contacts are used for emergency only. If an emergency contact attempts to pick up a student for early dismissal, we MUST speak with the parent or guardian of the student before permitted to sign the student out for the day.
Early dismissals end at 1:30 p.m. Please do not pick up any students for early dismissal after 1:30 p.m.
