ASVAB INFORMATION FOR JUNIORS
ASVAB for Juniors
Tuesday, February 27th: Last names starting with "A," ending at "Cisneros"
Wednesday, February 28th: Last names starting at "Cline," ending at "Miles"
Thursday, February 29th: Last names starting at "Milinganyo," ending at "Zubia"
***NOTE: Direct emails with instructions for each group will be sent, aside from this mailer!
What is it? What time does it start? Where is it taken?
- The ASVAB is an aptitude test used by the military branches to help identify areas of strength or weakness in academic, career, or military fields.
- It is taken in the main gym, and juniors in each group should report to the gym upon entering school - - 8:15 is check-in. The test will end, and students will be released to lunch, or 4th hour.
Why do we take it?
- As a district we have all juniors take the ASVAB, as part of our college and career readiness goals. This helps us determine college and career readiness of our student body, and also gives students an opportunity to identify areas of interest after high school.
Do We Share the Information with the Military?
No - We are an OPT-OUT district. The students test information remains private, unless a waiver is signed by the students parent/guardian. It CANNOT be shared to any military recruiting office, branch, etc... and your students will not be contacted by, introduced to, or connected with any military branch as a result of this test.
What if we are interested in sharing with the military branches?
This happens ONLY if the students parent/guardian sign a waiver to release their information to the military
Questions: Please contact CSmith@aguafria.org

π§ MASTERY LEARNING IN THE AFUHSD π§
π Introduction to Master Learning π
Why Mastery Learning?
Our district is committed to not only focusing on academic knowledge but also equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. By helping students master skills, our high schools ensure that graduates are better prepared for the demands and expectations of the professional world. Along with key academic coursework, mastering skills in high school can have a long-lasting impact on students' careers. The skills students develop during their education can serve as a solid foundation for their future professional growth. Proficiency in skills such as technology, leadership, creativity, and collaboration can contribute to career advancement and open doors to opportunities. We believe that students who develop strong skills during their education are more likely to embrace continuous learning and seek personal and professional development throughout their lives. This is crucial in a rapidly evolving job market where individuals need to adapt to new technologies, industries, and work environments.
