Wednesday - The Cat in the Hat Day - wear your favorite hat

Thursday - Fox in Socks - wear silly socks

FREE books and FREE Hockey! Valerius is WILD about reading. In the next two weeks your student will bring home a free book to help them reach their reading goals set by their teacher. If they meet these goals by March 6th they will earn a free Iowa Wild ticket for themselves to be used on March 15th at 3:00 pm or 28th at 12:30 pm and will receive a free prize after the game for all their hard work. Return their completed reading goal sheet in their take home folder or in the WILD bucket in the main office by March 6th.

While in at the Leading Continuous Improvement Conference last Thursday and Friday, Missy O’Connor had the opportunity to present alongside Jay Sikkink (7th grade SS) and Katie Bunce (High School Science) about the amazing work happening in classrooms and schools across Urbandale. By the time they were done sharing about the work that we’ve engaged in over the last 8 years I was once again reminded of why I choose to work and live in Urbandale. Listening to kids, implementing great processes, and continuously working to improve our system is engrained in the work we do. We believe in progress over perfection. Below are a few pictures of the team presenting. CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. O'Connor for standing up and sharing at a National level conference. She was awesome!
