Santa Clara Clarion
Staying Connected, February 5, 2023
We are now beginning the fifth month of running the church Thursday pantry.
With the help of the Second Harvest Food Bank, this past month of January, 77 new individuals/families signed up for food assistance.
155 people shopped through the pantry in 8 hours.
Two new faithful volunteers are coming to register and shop with the community.
This week Grocery Outlet donated food for our shelves,
Lisa V. from Safeway orchestrated a $100 gift card to help with food purchases,
The Kingsmen from the ARC continue to bless us the community with their service and
Paris Baguette brought six boxes of pastries to share with the people.
God's blessing is amazing. We are getting to meet the community and know that they feel loved when they come for food. Praise the Lord!
We look forward to the exciting new ways that God will used this congregation to reach the community for His name.
Major Shoshannah

Youth Rally Around the Corner
This year’s theme is “One-of-a-kind”, with the verses found in Job 12:10 - “In his hands is the life of every living creature and the breath of all mankind.”
Our kids will learn about the one-of-a-kind snake that spoke to Adam and Eve, the one-of-a-kind lions whose mouths were miraculously closed, the one-of-a-kind fish that swallowed a man, and the one-of-a-kind donkey that spoke, and one-of-a-kind Lamb who died for our sins.
Through this rally, we hope to reignite youth programs in our division!
Invite your family, friends, coworkers kids ... for the sake of the children!

Theme: Remix
- Remix is a term used in the musical world to define the process of altering a song to produce a different version of that same song. It consists of adding, removing, and/or balancing the many different tracks to create that new version. In the same way, Jesus is the remix of our lives. When we come to know who Jesus is, He removes the bad tracks in our lives, adds powerfully new tracks, and even amplifies the tracks we already have. Through Jesus, we are made new!
- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

The Western Territory will be hosting a retreat to meet the needs of young adults with varied disabilities! This is an area of ministry that is a crucial part of our service to others. It is also a great opportunity to provide those with varied disabilities and their caregivers a space to experience Jesus according to their needs.
Our division is allowing 3 individuals with varied disabilities to participate in the retreat. They can bring along with them 3 buddies and/or caretakers to help them get around.

ENCORE - May 6 Competition
Participation in ENCORE! also provides opportunities for other life lessons. ENCORE! can help in the development of self-assurance and confidence. It can help our young people to understand the importance of proper preparation and of presenting themselves in a positive way. Those in groups can learn the importance of a collaborative creative process – that each part of a group can contribute to the overall presentation of the whole group.
Who Should Participate in Encore?
We hope that the ENCORE program will help corps growth. Prospective Junior & Senior Soldiers are both allowed and encouraged to participate.
