Principal's Message
Dear Mulino Families,
Did you know that students with regular attendance (attending school 90% or more of the time) are more likely to succeed? Attendance is important for all grades. For example, students with chronic absenteeism, missing 10% or more of school are less likely to master reading by the end of third grade. Absences impact your student whether they are excused or unexcused absences.
At Mulino Elementary, students missing 18 or more days of school in a year are considered chronically absent. Currently, 38% of Mulino Elementary students are considered Chronically Absent, with attendance below 90%.
Parents and guardians can monitor their student’s attendance through ParentVue (contact our office if you need assistance). We know there are many obstacles that can impact students attending school from mental and physical needs to other barriers. If you need assistance with food, transportation, mental or physical health resources, or tips and tricks to support attendance please let us know. We’re happy to help.
We are looking forward to a great week,
Principal Hall

Parent & Teacher Conferences March 15-17
Women's History Month
A courageous advocate for gender equality for women from a young age, Billie Jean King accepted a challenge to play a match against former number 1-ranked tennis player Bobby Riggs. In doing so, she launched her fight for parity into the worldwide limelight.
Billie Jean King
It was 1973, and Riggs, a top men’s player in the 1930s and 1940s, was now a 55-year-old self-described hustler and male chauvinist. He claimed the women’s game was so inferior to the men’s game that even someone as old as he was could beat the current top female players. He challenged and defeated Margaret Court 6–2, 6–1.
Billie Jean, who had previously rejected challenges from Riggs, realized she now had to play him and accepted his challenge to disprove his baseless assertions.
Car Line Reminders
When dropping off in the car lane, be sure to do the following:
- Have your children gather backpacks, coats, etc. once you enter the car lane so they are ready to go when you reach the drop-off zone
- Pull forward in the drop-off zone as far as you can
- Once stopped within the drop-off zone, please let your child out. Please don't stop early as this causes the line to slow for everyone
- Drivers remain in the vehicle if possible while students exit cars
- If you need to assist your child in exiting the vehicle, please exit as quickly as possible
- Watch for and follow signals from our staff
- Students arriving after 9:10 AM will be directed to enter the school through the main office
