Week in Review
Happy Friday!
Today, our nation honors the service of all US military veterans. In the words of former President Harry S. Truman, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude." Thank you to those of you who have served. We are grateful.
Today marked the end of our food drive in which we joined with RISD, partnering with the Network of Community Ministries. Thank you for all of your contributions! The boxes were overflowing. We can't wait to tally things up before we send them off to the Network. We'll announce which ranch brought in the most goods at next week's Ranch Round Up!
We are excited about our second Ranch Round Up coming up next week on Friday, November 18. If you would like to join us, please RSVP at this link: RSVP for the Ranch Round Up on November 18.
We will have 2 Round Ups in the cafeteria, the first for grades 3 - 6 from 8:10-8:55 and the second from 9:00-9:45.
Have a great, chilly weekend!

Thank you for your desire to volunteer with RISD! Volunteers are an integral part of what we do everyday in Richardson ISD.
RISD uses VOLY, a volunteer management system, to post volunteer opportunities and find volunteers. To volunteer at an RISD campus, you need to create a VOLY account by visiting https://risd.voly.org/.
Richardson ISD requires each volunteer undergo a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during the VOLY account creation process. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval. (the process can take up to 2-3 weeks)
Once approved, you will be able to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities through the VOLY platform. Stay on the lookout for new opportunities for your campus, as well as opportunities across the district!
Setting Up a Parent Focus Account
Click on the links below to set up your parent FOCUS account. This will give you access to student grades, attendance, and general information.
Texas law (S.B. 2158) requires school districts to make inkless, in-home fingerprint and DNA identification kits available to parents or guardians of elementary and junior high students, upon request.
Parents may complete a kit to keep at home to provide to law enforcement authorities if assistance is ever needed to locate and return a missing child.
This program is an optional tool for parents to keep at home. Kits should not be returned to any RISD school or employee. Parents or guardians interested in an in-home fingerprint and DNA identification kit should contact their elementary or junior high school’s front office.
Please visit the Texas School Safety Center website for more information.
