Week Before Spring Break in Review
Scholars practiced their hear to write quiz skills with all letters and all their sounds. We also practiced our addition skills and completed some fun Easter activities. These included a craft, a jelly bean prayer for Easter, and a science experiment of which household liquids dissolved the jelly beans fastest.
This Week in Kindergarten
As it is the week back from a long break, we will be practicing and reviewing all our routines and procedures.
In reading, scholars will start their first spelling list with Spell to Write and read.
In math, scholars will begin to learn their doubles facts.
In history, we will continue learning about the Sumerians including the Epic of Gilgamesh.
In science, scholars will begin engaging in an animal study on sharks!
Chilly Weather Recess and Mud
As we continue this SPRING season, please ensure your scholar leaves home appropriately dressed for the outdoor weather. Please pay attention to the temperature during the time scholars will be outside for recess. We go to recess at 10:30. It its often much cooler than the temperature during dismissal. It would be preferable for the scholars to have a jacket and not have to wear it than to have nothing to wear to keep warm at recess.
Please also keep in mind that the ground on the playground can get quite muddy. Please send your scholar to school with shoes that can get dirty.
Thank you for your help with this!

Reminders
Homework
Homework will begin this week. Scholars will have about 10 minutes of homework each day. Work will be something that scholars can do with minimal support. Scholars will have about 10 minutes of homework each day to complete. Homework will be sent home in scholar’s red folder each Monday and is to be returned, completed by the date assigned on the bottom of the homework.
Please Read: Uniform Reminder
School policy states that students are not to wear boots with their uniform, even in the winter season. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
As a reminder, St. Regis uniforms require scholars to wear a white or red polo.
It would also help tremendously if families were to help their scholars tuck in their shirts before they get to school in the morning.
I have attached some images directly from the school's dress code document for your reference towards the end of the newsletter.
