Greenville Splash swam exceedingly well in the Charlotte meet! We had 27 swimmers travel, swim and compete! We came in first place in the out of state division and 2nd overall out of 39 teams! We were excited to have several first time swimmers join us: Jerry Anguiano, Bill Culp, Daniel Flavin, and David Preuninger! We had a great time together both in and out of the water. We also got to race against a few Olympians!

Many of our swimmers swam personal best times: including Sara Bopp, Allan Byer, Chris Gibbs, Taylor McAlister, Troy McAlister, Kelly Gillig, Will McWhorter and Tiffany Ours.

We had 65 first place finishes!

We broke 10 state records!

Kelly Gillig is a remarkable swimmer as her strokes are beautiful to watch and her speed is astonishing! Kelly has a very hard work ethic and enjoys pushing the limits at every practice. Kelly is very competitive and likes to keep up with swimmers half her age during workouts! Kelly has been swimming with Greenville Splash on a regular basis for many years. She has earned many state records and top ten times in USMS. She recently added 2 more state records in the 100 Fly and 400 IM. Her work ethic is an inspiration to other swimmers. Kelly has a husband and three children and her oldest daughter, Annie is a swimmer for Ohio State. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, dog and grand-dog!

Ole swam many events at the Charlotte meet including the 500 and 1,000 free. No excuse to not to set a goal and enter an event. We love spending time with Ole. Swim like Ole, and enter an event or two this year!
