Field Day

Our Annual Field Day will be taking place on Wednesday May, 31.

This is an event that all our Covington students look forward to every year. In order to make this possible, we will need parent and/or grandparent volunteers to sign up for the various activities, as well as to help with serving lunch that the PTO will be providing. Weather permitting, some events will be held outside.

Covington School Relocation Drill

As part of the District Safety Plan, on May 22nd, 2023 the entire school will be taking part in a relocation drill. In the morning, all students and staff will be walking to Parkland School located at 8901 S. 52nd Avenue. This drill is needed to prepare students for an event causing the need for school occupants to vacate the building and move to a different location. This drill is similar to other safety drills we practice such as fire drills, etc.

All students will be receiving a Permission Slip sent home today, Tuesday, May 16th, for this. Please return this form no later than Thursday, May 18th.

ABC Countdown

Thursday, April 27th is the start of our 'ABC Countdown'. As we approach these final few weeks of school, we want to focus on positivity and some of the great things that we are doing at school with our students. Wednesday, May 17th: ''Organization Day' - Organize your desks and locker for a great last two weeks of school
Thursday, May 18th - 'Puzzle Day' - Enjoy a puzzle with a friend
Friday, May 19th - 'Quiet and Read Day' - Bring a good book and take some time to read today
Monday, May 22nd - Rock Out Day' - Dress like a rockstar and have a dance party!
Tuesday, May 23rd - 'Sports Day' - Wear your favorite team's hat, shirt, or jersey!

Drop Off Lane

Note: You can begin dropping off students in the drop-off lane at 8:10 A.M. We have been getting really backed up at about 8:20 A.M. and cars until 8:35 A.M. To avoid this, please consider dropping off students earlier as between 8:10 A.M. - 8:20 A.M.the line is much shorter.

With cold temperatures and difficult weather will become more normal, we are going to experience a larger number of families that are utilizing our Drop Off Lane.

When using the Drop Off Lane, please note:

When entering the drop-off lane, pull up as far as you can. When stopping your car, if you are anywhere along the purple curb, please have your student(s) exit the vehicle and walk on the sidewalk.
Students should walk directly onto the sidewalk. From there, walk along the sidewalk to Door 2.
Please be patient while using the Drop Off Lane.
