Back to School Night is September 12, 2023
Cedarmere Families, Back to School Night is right around the corner, and we can't wait to see our CES Families. This will be an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, learn about their new curriculum this year, and classroom expectations! We will have one general session and two identical sessions for families who have multiple children.
Families this will also be a time for you to enter into our "raptor system." All BCPS schools have a system that you must display a picture identification (government approved) to the front office upon entering. Our office staff will be here on BTSN, so they can enter your information in advance, therefore when you enter our schoolhouse for the remainder of the year you are already raptored in. When you enter our school for a visit you will receive a visitor's badge to be worn visibly around the school.
General Session @5:30 – 6:15 pm
Session 1 w/Your Child’s Homeroom Teacher @6:20 – 6:50 pm
Session 2 w/Your Child’s Homeroom Teacher @ 6:55 – 7:25 pm
**Our special area classroom teachers will be present for the visitation as well.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Early Dismissal for Students
Parents please be advised that early dismissal ends at 2:45! We need to ensure that our dismissal process is safe and uninterrupted. If you would like to pick up your child early please send a note to your child's teacher or call the office. If you arrive after the 2:45 time we kindly ask that you wait in your vehicle until 3:30 pm to pick up your child, and if you have sent a note or called the office we will have them waiting for you in the office.
Please remember when you are picking up your child you must show a picture identification to the office staff prior to receiving them.
Lunch Delivery
Parents this year all students may receive FREE school lunch. However, if you want to pack your child's lunch each day you are welcome to send them with a packed lunch. We are requesting that you send your child to school with their lunch when they arrive. We are requesting that you DO NOT bring lunch to the office for your child each day to be delivered after school begins. Please understand, if you miss the beginning of their lunch time the office staff may not be able to deliver the lunch to your child, as the office staff has other duties that must take priority. We thank you in advance for understanding and your full cooperation.
Late Arrivals to School
CES Families, schools begins at 8:15 am, students are marked late after 8:30 am, (unless they arrive by a BCPS school bus). We cannot stress how important it is for your children to arrive to school on time each day. However, if they are late please walk them into school, and share the reason for their tardiness.
Notes from Nurse Turner - Our School Nurse
One of the primary goals of Cedarmere Elementary is maintaining the health and wellbeing of all students. To help us do so please review the following guidelines:
« Medications are preferably given at home. However, if you and your physician decide it is necessary for your child to receive medication during the school day, the “Parent’s Request to Administer Medication in School” form must be completed by the physician and signed by you.
Medication must be brought in the original box or bottle with a prescription label on the container.
« Please, send in a bag with spare clothes for your students (Pre-K –5th) to be left in their locker. Many of us do not realize that kids spill drinks at lunch, slip in mud or tear their clothes while playing in gym or recess.
« Please make sure your contact phone numbers are up to date. If an illness or injury occurs at school, it is essential that we have current contact information.
« Keep the nurse informed of any changes in your child’s health (new medications, allergies, changes in diet, vision or hearing)
We are in desperate need of donations of pants if your child has outgrown theirs, please consider donating to the health Suite as we only got 5 percent of our clothes back last year. Lastly, if your child is loaned clothes from the health suite, please wash and return them so that we have them for another child in need.
LOST AND FOUND!!!!!
Parents it is week one of our new school year and we already have several items that are lost. Please see the picture below and if any of the items belong to your child please email your child's teacher. In addition we ask that you please LABEL your child's belongings (clothing, water bottles, backpacks and especially COATS, SWEATERS AND JACKETS!!)
