Please review this announcement from our Board of Directors about our next Head of School. We look forward to welcoming Ms. Ariane Baer-Harper (LinkedIn), effective July 1, 2023. We are fortunate to have Ariane join as Head of School Elect on April 3, 2023, when she will begin her full-time service in partnership with Jacques, who will continue to serve as the AIS Head of School and will work closely with Ariane during a transition period through the end of June.

AIS Community Clean-up Appreciation
Merci, Gracias, and Thank you, AIS Community! Wow! What an incredible show of community spirit during our campus cleanup days! Thank you to the many AIS families, staff members, and students who came out to saw, chop, cut, drag, bundle, sweep, rake, and bring treats! It was a true manifestation of the strength of our community.
Bluebonnet Breakfast Celebration
We had such a great time at our Bluebonnet Breakfast this morning. Great job to all our readers. We look forward to announcing the winner of the Bluebonnet Award in March. Thank you students for your participation, and parents for your encouragement of this program!
A Warm Welcome to Lara
We are very pleased to share with you that Ms. Lara Gudmanz, our new PS and MS English teacher, recently arrived from sunny South Africa! Ms. Lara is a very experienced early childhood teacher who most recently has worked with young learners at Dubai American Academy. Prior to that, she taught lower elementary and early childhood students at a top independent school in Johannesburg for a number of years. We are glad she has joined our community.

Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française, Register by 2/16
We are very excited to announce that the DELF A2 Diploma registrations are now open. The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française or Diploma of French Languages Studies) is an official qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language. It is a certificate that is valid for life and is an excellent academic credential for your children to have. This exam will take place at AIS between March 1st and March 3rd, 2023 (i.e., individual speaking evaluation on March 1-2 and group written evaluation on March 3). The registrations are open for CE2, CM1, and CM2 students (12YO and under that have not done the test before). Please take a moment to submit the online DELF registration form today to reserve your child’s spot! The last day to register is next Thursday, Feb. 16.
AIS Board Meeting - Tue., 2/21, 6:30pm
The AIS governing Board of Directors will meet in person on Tuesday, February 21st beginning at 6:30pm. Members of our community are encouraged to observe Open Session of the meeting with an opportunity for public comments at the conclusion of the open portion.

Come join AIS as we take flight with Super Hero Community Helpers from March 20 - 24, 2023. Campers will learn about different community helpers, make arts & crafts, and get to dress up in their favorite Super Hero costume.
