Otter Families!

I hope this message finds you well-rested and filled with joy after the Thanksgiving break. We are excited to welcome back our otters!

During the break, I hope you had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, creating lasting memories. As we return to school, our Otter Squad is eager to continue fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for your child.

We have exciting activities and educational experiences planned for the coming weeks: Holiday Cookies and Crafts with Santa (PTA), the Band/String/Chorus Concert, and a Sing Along Community Gathering. Your support is invaluable, and we look forward to working together as we head into Winter Break.

Here is a breakdown by grade level for attendance rates since the beginning of the school year. Remember, 94% or higher is the goal!

PreK: 89%

Kindergarten: 93%

1st Grade: 95%

2nd Grade: 94%

3rd Grade: 95%

4th Grade: 93%

5th Grade: 95%

Our school's overall attendance rate, as reported to MSDE, for the school year so far is 93%

All SMCPS laptops come with the same responsibility of care and upkeep as any other loaned resources. Textbooks, novels, laptops and chargers can incur a debt if lost or damaged. Please refer to the student accountability newsletter that has been added to our weekly school newsletters.

All parent(s)/guardian(s) must complete an Acceptable Use Policy each school year. Click HERE to complete the Google form. School staff will be in touch with all families to complete the form throughout the month of August and September.

I am Hannah Pratz, and I am so excited to be returning to the OES family this school year! I have been a school nurse for 24 years and have loved every minute! I love what I do and my door is always open! Don't hesitate to pop in the health suite or cut through!
