School Safety Dog Program
Beginning in the next few weeks, BHS will reintroduce the school safety dog program. In partnership with 3DK9 and their school safety dogs, BHS will begin to perform periodic searches of student parking lots, hallways, and locker areas during the next few weeks. The safety dogs can detect commonly abused prescription drugs, illicit drugs, firearms, and explosives.
The dogs from 3DK9 respond to contraband in a passive manner. As such, their presence creates a minimal disruption to the school day. Further, detection teams will visit BHS randomly throughout the remainder of the school year. This strategy places an emphasis on prevention as the school safety dogs could be on campus any school day.
Thank you for your support in helping to maintain a safe school environment.

National Neurodiversity Acceptance Month
Have you noticed that everyone thinks, learns, and processes information differently? Neurodiversity is based on the idea that everyone has a differently-wired brain and their own unique way of thinking and experiencing the world. This month we celebrate the strengths and talents of all types of learners and recognize their hard work, resilience, and determination. Celebrating neurodiversity is one way of reminding us of the importance of being kind, tolerant, and accepting of everyone and that no matter what our differences and challenges, everyone also has their own strengths and talents.

- VOLUNTEER our time to make this event a success,
- DONATE ITEMS: donations of new (or gently used and clean) items may be dropped off at “Red Box” locations around town or at the donation center in South Barrington on Saturday mornings,
- “PACK THE BUS” at Jewel Osco in Barrington on 11/18 - 11/19, or

See Something, Say Something
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we commit to offering a safe
and secure educational environment. Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911.______________________________________________
