Principals from across Crowley ISD hold their distinction designation banners at the regular August board meeting.

Enrollment Continues to Climb in 2019-20
The new school year has brought changes with it, including new school attendance boundaries, new grade configurations at the elementary level as well as an additional elementary school that opened in August.

Board Approves Lower Tax Rate
Crowley ISD trustees approved the adoption of a lower total tax rate of $1.5684.
That tax rate includes an Interest and Sinking rate of 50 cents, and a Maintenance and Operations tax rate of $1.0684.
CISD continues to offer the 10% homestead exemption to taxpayers.
CISD Creates Mobile STEM-Education Lab
The mobile STEM lab will travel to campuses across Crowley ISD and to the larger community.
The lab will help promote inquiry-based learning in under-served campuses and communities throughout the district as well as increase advanced training in STEM fields to prepare students, especially among under-served populations with limited exposure. The lab also will help increase the scientific literacy among the general public.
Students from Melissa Porter's graphic design class at the B.R. Johnson Career & Tech Center created the design concept for the bus, which was donated to the district.
Foundation Awards More Than $32,000 in Grants
The Chisholm Trail Education Foundation awarded 11 grants to Crowley ISD employees during the district's annual convocation in August.
•Jackie Carden Elementary School — $698 for "Fundamentals of First Grade Reading"
•Districtwide — $1,500 for "Making Connections: Disability Resource Fair"
•Crowley High School — $1,850 for "I Laugh in the Face of Language Barriers"
•Districtwide — $5,000 for "CISD Elementary Battle of the Books"
•Mary Harris Elementary School — $1,500 for "Texts That Matter: Culturally-Responsive Read-Aloud"
•Mary Harris Elementary School — $1,728 for "Virtual Reality"
•Districtwide — $5,000 for "Crowley ISD Panther Olympics"
•H.F. Stevens, Summer Creek and Crowley middle schools — $1,800 for "Chrome Crew"
•Sycamore Elementary School — $2,999.96 for "The Read Aloud Revival"
•Oakmont and June W. Davis elementary schools — $4,997.05 for "Two Schools, One Book"
•North Crowley High School — $5,000 for "Panther Emporium"
Board Approves New Counseling Services Coordinator
Trina Harris was hired as the district’s counseling services coordinator. She currently works in Fort Worth ISD as the restorative practices coordinator.
