A Message From Heather Patterson, GRHS Principal
Happy Sunday GRHS Longhorns,
Help me send a big Longhorn welcome to our newest Assistant Principal, Marqueshah Coy. She will be teaming up with Ashley Hunt, GRHS counselor to assist our GRHS Longhorns with the last names starting with Sad-Z. Read a little more about Mrs. Coy in the visual below. She transitions from the "lil" end to the "big" end of the Ranch this week! Welcome to the GR Staffamily Mrs. Coy!
This past week we were able to show our bus drivers a little kindness and love for all they do to get our longhorns safely to and from school. We appreciate their dedication to our Longhorn Nation and doing the best they can while still being short staffed.
George Ranch High School Pickup and Drop Off
There is NO PICKUP or DROP OFF on FM 762. All students must be picked up from the GRHS parking lot or in front of the school. Students can NOT walk across the parking lot and into oncoming traffic to be picked up. This is a serious safety issue that must be corrected immediately. Please see traffic flow map picture below. Thanks for helping us keep our Longhorns safe even outside the building.
Calling all ROWDIES! This week will be TWO football games. This past Saturday, after several lightning delays, we finally had to postpone our game against the Broncos. Since this is a district game we have to play it, so it will be Monday evening at 6:00pm at Hall Stadium. On Saturday we will be "TIE-ING" up the Tigers again at Hall Stadium. Bust out that Tie-dye clothing on Thursday for the mini pep and advisory challenge! Let's go!!!
The Zombie Prom production presented by the Longhorn Players was a SPOOKY success on all three showings! Congrats to the cast, crew, and directors for making this show happen and all the hard work that went into it. Please support their annual wreath fundraiser below to help them raise funds to attend the Thespians Convention this year!
Congrats to our Longhorn Band! Tuesday evening, they competed at the UIL Region Marching Contest at Hall Stadium in Fort Bend ISD. They were awarded the top rating of a Division 1 Superior. This is the marching band's 12th consecutive rating of a Division 1. This is also the first part of their 11th straight UIL Sweepstakes award. George Ranch Band has the longest streak of consecutive Sweepstakes in LCISD. Their performance on Tuesday also qualified them to perform in the UIL Area Marching Contest on October 30th at the Challenger Stadium in Clear Creek.
This week is RED RIBBON WEEK! OCTOBER 25th-29th Check out the fun dress up days in the flyer above this. MONDAY IS COLLEGE GEAR DAY! Who will you be reppin?

GRHS JV VS FOSTER AND FT. BEND BUSH
The Longhorns traveled across town to play the Foster Falcons. The Longhorns struggled in the 1st half and were down 15-0. The Horns came back strong with a two yard QB sneak for a touchdown by Melvin Youngblood. That was followed quickly by an eighty yard touchdown pass from Youngblood to Brandon Everett. As great as the Horns played in the second half they just couldn't pull off the comeback and fell 14-22.
The Longhorns took on the Bush Broncos Thursday Night at Longhorn Stadium. The Horns came away with a resounding 42-8 victory. QBs Matthew Villarreal and Allen Howard both led strong offensive drives throughout the game. Javon Randle and Malachi Montgomery were the bell-cows in the backfield, running the ball through the Bush Defense. Defensively the Longhorns surrendered little in terms of yardage, and only allowed a score when facing short field. The Horns took on the challenge of defending their home turf and succeeded.
Varsity will play Ft. Bend Bush on Monday to finish the postponed game due to multiple lighting delays. FILL THOSE STANDS ROWDIES we need to HEAR YOU!
