New Breakfast and Lunch Routine
Breakfast: A new line has been created for students who eat breakfast in the morning at school. If your child will be eating breakfast in the morning, please have them walk on the white line that leads to the gym doors where they will be allowed to enter and get their breakfast.
Rainy Day Recess Reminders
On days where there is a significant amount of rainfall, we will be enacting our Rainy Day Recess Plan! PE will now be brought back inside with our lunch change, therefore, we can utilize our undercover area once again for rainy day recess. Depending on which zone students are assigned to for the day, they will either be brought to the undercover area, or the covered courtyard area for rainy day recess.
Remember, no umbrellas!
Morning Drop Off Reminders
Please remember to have patience, be alert and respectful of the fellow families dropping their students off. Please do not stop your vehicle to drop off students on the roundabout crosswalk, remember to use your turn signal when exiting the drop off lane and maintain less than 5mph in our parking lot. Please only allow students to exit the vehicle when you are in the drop off lane near the sidewalk, not the through lane.
If you are dropping off a kindergarten student and the side gates are closed, you will need to have your student go through the front doors. There will be plenty of staff out front to assist students in getting to where they need to be!
Additionally, if you are walking your child to school, please remember to always use the marked crosswalks and do not cross across the parking lot or street.
Thank you for prioritizing the safety of our students!
Construction on Ridgeline 10/25-10/29
Next week, there will be construction on the sidewalk that fronts Sato along Ridgeline St in the area shown in the red boxes on the aerial map below.
They will demolish the concrete ramps on either side of the staff parking entrance and then pour new ramps to face the new street to the north, and install a “bridge” through the bioswale at the intersection of the new road to the east.
The sidewalk in the red boxed areas will not be passable during construction 10/25 - 10/29. They will install traffic cones around the area and do the work outside of pickup/dropoff times to minimize the impact to the school.
The concrete pour is scheduled for next Friday, Oct 29. The sidewalk will be open to pedestrians by Monday Nov 1 but they will keep the traffic cones up for about a week after the pour to deter cars from cutting the corner and risk vehicles driving over the new concrete.
Weekly Covid Testing
Fridays - Distribution of Test Kits
Mondays - Collection of Test Kits
It is important to note that weeks where there isn't school on either a Monday or a Friday, there will not be distribution or collection of kits.
Because of conferences, our first distribution will be Friday, October 29th with collection on Monday, November 1st.
The first time the kits come home, you will have an instruction sheet on how to use the testing kit and a sheet of labels with your child's information on them. Only kits collected at the start of the Monday collection day will be able to be accepted. If you forget your kit at home on the Monday collection day, we will not be able to accept it for that week.
HERE is a link to the OHSU Weekly testing site for more information.
See below for videos on how to complete the weekly screening test.
Rolling enrollment:
Families may enroll their student at any time. Please contact the office to sign up.
Please know that it is about a two week turn around. This means that when a you sign up, you don't immediately get the Kit sent home the very next distribution Friday. We upload the forms and OHSU has to process them.

A reminder from Transportation
When should I keep my child home from school?
We would like to remind you about our guidelines for determining whether or not your student should come to school if they are ill.
If your student shows primary symptoms of COVID 19, we ask you to keep your child home and contact your health care provider to get a COVID test. You may also find THIS website helpful for covid testing locations. Primary symptoms of covid are defined as fever, cough, chills, loss of taste or smell and/or shortness of breath.
- If the covid test is positive, please notify the school and quarantine your child at home for 10 days or as directed by Washington County Public Health.
- If the test is negative, please follow the Keep Ill Children Out of School guidelines
- If you do not want to test your student for covid and they are showing primary symptoms, they should quarantine at home for 10 days.
- If your child has any other communicable disease symptoms, please follow the Keep Ill Children Out of School guidelines.
If you have a child who has a diagnosed chronic health condition that may present as primary symptoms of covid, such as asthma or another lung condition and the school is unaware of this condition, please contact our school nurse, Sydney Garl at sydney_garl@beaverton.k12.or.us or via parent square. She may need to implement a school health management plan to help prevent your child from being inappropriately sent home from school.
Please notify the office if your child will be out sick. We appreciate your help keeping our school community safe. Remember to use the attendance link on our main webpage
